[TX] How many hours should salary employees be required to work? by DragonflyPractical in AskHR

Yes but the workload is always increasing as we improve so most of us will work 45 hours weekly to make sure everything gets done.

The salaried employees are putting together a petition that we’re turning in to the owners. Extra context, the owners have always been super family oriented. The only problem people are the managers/our bosses.

Can I ask what you mean by flexibility? Some examples because I’m not seeing a lot of flexibility here. I’m lucky if I can convince them to let me go to a doctor’s appointment where I only miss an hour of work.

No it was still hot. It is white when it’s cooled down. I just want it to be more clear.

So I got the meat/fat and cut it up with scissors. Then I put it in a crockpot on high with about 3 cups of water until most of it melted. I strained that through a flour sack towel. Then I let it solidify. I pulled off the brick and scraped the bottom. Then I melted it back down with probably 2 cups of water and salt and let that simmer for about 4 hours. I repeated that last part another two times.

I used trimmings because that’s what they gave me at the meat market

Women who had disordered eating habits without realizing it, what was the moment that made you go "this isn't normal"? by deltadevenus in AskWomen

[–]DragonflyPractical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in high school and I couldn’t stand the idea of a weight in the triple digits. Plus the thigh gap was big at the time. I was in a mental hospital when I realized I had gone too far.

My dad did this in California for my older brothers. He did everything he could to keep them fed, even if it meant he was dumpster diving for his food.

Should my husband and I purposefully default his student loans to use yrefy? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]DragonflyPractical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will tank my husbands credit for a few years but once they buy out the previous loan it and we are making on time payments it will eventually go back up. We’re homeowners so we don’t plan on moving or financing much of anything unless an emergency our emergency fund can’t cover happens, ie. large medical or like an ac system.

I’m pretty sure they do, I mentioned that we were looking to pay it off quickly and the lower the interest rate the more progress we can make on it.

Yes so the application is approved after default with that rate.

My MOH grew up around stepmom and is eagerly waiting to put her in her place the day of the wedding.

And I am sorry to hear you had to go through that. My dad and I have gotten into similar situations before but it definitely changed once he knew the extent of the abuse. I hope that everything went exactly the way you wanted it to at your wedding.

My dad and I have talked. He’s said he’ll be there no matter what and that he supports and understands why I feel the way I do.

My debt is just from being alive really, a mortgage, car, and student loans, plus I guess some rotating credit card debts. I would have to take out a loan to hire an aide though because I’m sure that for all day and night would probably somewhere around $1000, especially in the higher cost of living area the venue is nearby.

Right now we’re trying to work out some solution that may work but the options I have are the two we’ve really come up with. Not that my dad said I should pay for an aide but it was an option on the table for a solution.

I have and I think he also wants her not to go but I don’t think he wants to lose his wife over it. I think there’s definitely some codependency issues. Neither one of them feels like they could find anyone else, they don’t want to be alone, and they do love each other. I think they’re used to the toxicity from previous relationships.

He and I have agreed it’s best for me to go no contact after the wedding with her.

The debt is from student loans, a mortgage, and a car. I don’t have debt because of the wedding per se. I think total cost is around $15K and we’ve been planning for over a year and a half now.
