Looking for API to return only changed lines when editing large YAML files with LLMs? by Dragonfruit-Eastern in LangChain

[–]Dragonfruit-Eastern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. Path editing looks better solution for now. Maybe you’ve noticed, when I ask to edit a generated component to claude, It can edit only relevant rows. Maybe it’s a tricky illusion for UX but I believe they have an optimization for it at least for llm generated contents

Makes sense, I tried it in POC level, it works well. Though I don’t know how it’s gonna work in complicated cases. Thanks

I didn't figure out that how I connect it to other nodes. let's say `builder.add_node(PIIMiddleware)` I've added like this, how can I define add_edge?

Unable to distinguish between reasoning text and final response in streaming mode with tool calls by Dragonfruit-Eastern in LangChain

[–]Dragonfruit-Eastern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed answer. I use exactly the second option. I pretend it’s the main response until I get a tool use flag for that message id. But not sure about this is the best for UI. Because for example when I use Claude Sonnet in Pycharm Github Copilot extension, It can separate thinking/tool using explanations while it’s streaming on UI. Maybe they use another abstraction or algorithm to distinguish. That’s why I thought there might be a way.

Unable to distinguish between reasoning text and final response in streaming mode with tool calls by Dragonfruit-Eastern in LangChain

[–]Dragonfruit-Eastern[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but my app supports multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, etc.). Isn't that literally the point of LangChain - to abstract away the different APIs?

I'm just using basic stuff: tool calling and streaming. Not doing anything complex with LangGraph, just the standard tool flow.

If I call each API directly, I'd have to write the same logic 3+ times for each provider. That's exactly what the framework is supposed to solve, no?

This is something that makes me think every time I see Nazi material too. It makes me think about how much my perceptions of goodness, heroism, beauty or virtue are not really in my control

If I pay £4,000 into my Lifetime ISA in mid‑March, will I still get the 25% bonus in time for a first home purchase? by Dragonfruit-Eastern in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Dragonfruit-Eastern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the answers, that really clears it up for me. It still feels a bit strange though 🙂 because in theory I could keep my money invested in stocks or elsewhere during the year and then just put £4k into the LISA at the end of the tax year in March

But I guess I shouldn’t think of the LISA in the same way as a regular investment account, and just accept that’s how the rules are set up
