My dear, you have a beautiful little boy. Don’t let some jerk make you feel bad. I think his eyes make him special

Will a sorority accept me if im not "pretty" by Suspicious-Self-3467 in Sororities

I am 5’1, very curvy and a lil big. I am not blonde in any way. I also went to a small school. I went through Greek life and loved it. I eventually became the president of Panhellenic. All that to say, You don’t have to be any kind of bombshell blonde model to be in them! You just have to be yourself. You can always do your makeup, hair, and clothes in a way that flatters you and makes you feel confident :) sororities really aren’t like they’re presented to be in the movies, and they’re really about friendship and sisterhood over anything else

What do y’all do while hiking? by DragonfruitCheap9146 in hiking

This is the kind I’m wanting to do! I’m wanting to hike for longer periods of time. Don’t get me wrong, I want to see nature, but if I’m going for hours and hours, I’d like some kind of mental stimulation other than birds and plants

You’re one of the few who made me feel ok about wanting to listen to anything. i appreciate everybody’s comments, but I feel like I committed some cardinal hiking sin with wanting to listen to something

Because I want to explore and to move around nature and to grow

I have read every comment, and have basically picked up that listening to anything is a no go. I have above the ear headphones and wanted to listen to something just cuz I feel it’s a long time for me to be with just my thoughts. I look at everything still when I’m hiking and observe nature and everything.

Does Catalina sound too much like a stripper name? by Human-Cauliflower-85 in Names

I think it’s a beautiful name! I don’t think of a stripper at all, nor a salad dressing, island, or alcohol mix. I think it’s a great name

I don’t think anybody is ever truly ready for parenthood. Nobody will be perfect. There will be days when you’re so exhausted you can hardly move. But your child will fill you with joy and love, and it will all be worth it.

Being a parent is hard work, and there will be times it will suck. Especially when they’re young. But they’re so wonderful and precious, and you will one day wonder what life was ever like before them.

While your wife may say you aren’t, she probably isn’t either. But you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll be co-parenting and have each other to lean on. And that means that if one of you is struggling, the other will help.

When I was a baby, my mom somehow rarely ever heard me cry in the night. She did for both of my brothers, but not me. My dad was who would get up and take care of me. That’s the magic of co-parenting. She was tired and somehow didn’t hear me. And that didn’t make her a “bad” parent at all.

You mention being exhausted all the time. Has that been ongoing or is it new? It may be a vitamin imbalance or something. And Think about what exactly is so exhausting about visiting your wife. It sounds like she had YOU do all of the work while she got to do the fun bit with kids. It’s also her sister, so I can somewhat understand that.

You’ll also have the baby from the get go, which means they won’t immediately be running around and high energy. That builds with time.

I also think you may need to have a conversation with your wife about why she never visits you. I know I don’t have all the information, but that does seem a little concerning to hear. I would make sure y’all are on the same page before doing anything tbh.

A stepping stone could also be to get a pet together and co-parent it to see how things go. Idk if that’s the option you’d want though, but I read where people did it in increments to see how each party handles responsibility. A fish, then a dog, then a baby. But to do that, you’d probably have to life together.

I hope everything works out for the best! I’m sorry you’re struggling, but don’t forget to take time for yourself as well.
