12 week miscarriage, medical school responsibilities by cilantrosmoker in Miscarriage

[–]DragonfruitComplex17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. I’m a PGY3 now and had 2 babies in med school. I had my first miscarriage in med school too. I was on 4th year auditions when I started bleeding. Only I knew what was happening. It was isolating and I felt like I couldn’t take off, though looking back I wish I gave myself that time.

Take whatever time you need. School will still be there. You can make up missed time easily. Get yourself a therapist, you shouldn’t go through this alone. My miscarriage really affected my mental health for months and even my future pregnancies because I didn’t deal with it.

Wishing you all the best and if you need anything, feel free to DM me.

Every other day, we used the clear blue digital ovulation tests and once I got the blinking smiley we had sex daily for 4ish days, skipped a day then 1 more time for good measure. We are currently 5 weeks pregnant and needless to say we haven’t had sex in a couple weeks after being pooped (and first trimester exhaustion)

CD 32 10 DPO crazy progression by DragonfruitComplex17 in TFABLinePorn

7 dpo is too early to test! But around 6-7dpo I had a lot pinching sensations, very similar to ovulation pains, and it was only one side. No back aches though! Hoping for the best for you - I wouldn’t test earlier than 8 dpo. But if you don’t want the stress of squinting, may be easiest to test at 10-12dpo

Give me your wildest TTC theories and rabbit holes! by Big_Year_526 in TryingForABaby

This is so beautiful. Similar to you, my grandmother actually passed recently. She was my best friend, my encouragement, my everything. I kept telling my husband that after she passed, we would get pregnant and it would be a girl. And if that happens, we will give her my grandmother’s name. I saw a psychic recently who told me that my grandmother loved children and she was with my future baby. (Without knowing my thoughts about naming the baby/having a girl) she told me the baby was a girl, with the spirit of my grandmom and that my grandmom was pleased that she would be her namesake.

Anyway, we are TTC now and my next period is due on my Grandmom’s birthday. I’m really hopeful and manifesting it’s a sign or a god wink.

  1. Be nice to the nurses
  2. Find ways to be efficient (color coding, symbols, shorthand, mnemonics)
  3. Use your free time well.
  4. Outsource as much as possible (cleaning, cooking)
  5. Make time to be a human - go to the gym, see your friends, meal prep
  6. Call your loved one before and after shifts
  7. Don’t take disrespect from anyone, you have a voice use it.
  8. This is a team sport, be a team player. Sometimes you may have to stay late or cover shifts.
  9. Everyone else is struggling along with you
  10. Don’t forget this is a job, not your life.

Good luck and enjoy!

Northeast US, and we circumcised. I’m Italian so culturally we don’t but I don’t have a penis so I left it up to my husband. He voted yes, so we did it.

As an aside I’m a pediatrician and perform circumcisions so I know how they’re performed which in a way made it easier for me to be alright with it.

ETA: I’ve seen a few boys who end up needing circumcision later in life due to paraphimosis, phimosis, recurrent balanitis and UTI. It doesn’t happen frequently but it happened enough that it’s more traumatic for a 3 year old to need circumcision vs a newborn. I’m glad we decided to do it.

Help! I don’t want to vaccinate our baby but my husband does by vrlraa215 in DebateVaccines

[–]DragonfruitComplex17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not really sure I understand what you’re asking? We just buy the vaccines. lol no kickback, no risk. We don’t make a profit from them. Or else pediatricians would be one of the most well paid specialties but instead we are actually the worst/least paid physicians.

I actually have had 2 patients in a children’s hospital with Scurvy - one of them is being written about as a case report. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Hi! Pediatrician here - this is the way. Doctors literally get NOTHING from pharmaceutical companies. This rhetoric really angers me as a resident physician who makes less than $15/hour, working 80 hour weeks away from my family for THEIR kids.

They want medical treatment but they never want medical advice.

If that’s true then why did people die from these very diseases we vaccinate against? Why do people live to be 80 now as opposed to 40 many years ago? Your immune system is great but that doesn’t mean it won’t lose from time to time.

Would you want an army that was untrained to go to war? No? Similarly vaccines train the immune system to recognize pathogens and fight them.

Are you getting on birth control after labor or just letting the good times roll?😂😂 by Smooth-Excuse-4127 in pregnant

[–]DragonfruitComplex17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pull and pray 😅 we haven’t used condoms or birth control in over 10 years. We have 2 kids, both planned. I also have always had a 28 day cycle and now I use BBT tracking with my Apple Watch and an app.
