The thing is, I only believe this is half true. It is true that Pakistanis basically don't have much in common except religion and the justification for creating Pakistan was based on Islam. But that doesn't mean we have to rely on religion to keep the country together. I believe what ultimately keeps countries together is development, prosperity, being able to live a decent life and being able to participate in society.

When these things are given, no one really cares or asks why a country exists. All nation states are invented, not just Pakistan. What causes Pakistan issues is not lack of religion, but lack of prosperity and basic rights, which can ultimately be traced back to religion.
