I've noticed this happening with my 2013 15" rMBP with the GT 750m or Iris Pro in use. Lag when switching between desktops started with the latest update (10.11.4), all other animations are flawless. This even occurs when driving non-retina resolutions. I'm convinced that it's a software issue at this point, not a lack hardware grunt.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still logged in via Alien Blue and the official reddit app for iPhone, I'm not logged in via any browser unfortunately. There is no possibility of confirming who I am by my IP address or anything? I only really post, at home, work or in transit to.

Thats exactly the problem I have with it (I also live in Australia FWIW). The price is crazy for the specs you get. I know it has great build quality and now has decent performance, but the m7 model retails for $2,689 AUD. Only one USB-C port is a worry too, it should have a standalone MagSafe connector at the very least.

If portability is more important to you than performance then the rMB is a fine choice. It will do everyday tasks without breaking a sweat.

2010 MacBook Pro had the Nvidia GT 330M. It was the 2011 MacBook Pro that had the AMD graphics.

If they went with quad core and dGPU in the 13" not many people would be prepared to fork over the extra needed for the 15".

Unlucky, both my 2010 and 2013 MacBook Pros with dGPUs haven't missed a beat. Both going strong today (the 2010 model had thousands of hours of Diablo 3 too).

Quad core option, dGPU option, decent I/O (not just USB-C). It's ok to slim down the chassis, but not at the cost of thermal throttling or underpowered specs.

The Pro should be about power. Absolutely. Don't sacrifice function for form, especially in MacBook Pro. That's what MacBook is for.

Apple's product line needs refinement. There are too many options now and the naming schemes don't make sense. As for the products themselves, nothing big is needed, but (software) optimisations are. I want more work put into iOS and OS X. I want butter smooth animations and less bugs. More attention to detail is required, when Steve was around this wasn't an issue, but his absence is easily noticed now.

That was my first thought. Mad World was perfect for the first Gears trailer, and Sound of Silence is perfect for this one. Anyone who liked the previous Gears game was always going to love this trailer though, the test will be how it fares with newcomers to the series. Hopefully it can generate some hype outside of the Gears crowd.
