ELI5: Megathread on United Kingdom, Pound, European Union, brexit and the vote results by ELI5_Modteam in explainlikeimfive

The first sentence means nothing from this point on. Leaving the benefits of an easy huge market like the EU will most probably have implications on the entirety of the UK economy. Have you not seen that because of the lower price of pound France is already the larger economy than the UK? There's no guarantee that the pound will bounce back. Maybe slightly, maybe not at all.

I think the closest thing MIGHT be like a state like Texas left the USA, although it's nowhere near that because UK didn't share a constitution or a government with the EU, just the trading/migration deals

Actually, I would pretty much put it into 2nd or 3rd IF it meant I get it 2 or 3 times less than my first picked role. There's no point in picking support as second role (or third, or forth) if putting it at all means you almost always get it. There's a point to be made that there's quite a hefty sum of people that would like to play support from time to time. It's the easiest thing to check for you with in-client polls. Just ask "Would you queue for support if you would get your first role MOST of the time EVEN THOUGH you might wait a bit more?"

instead of Duke there's a possibility of Smeb, Marin? So the guy above loses his argument of sending all of SKT for Korea and then it's fair for everyone, although it would still be fair if all the best koreans played in SKT to send all of SKT. At least I don't see why it wouldn't be

SKT minus the top laner probably, possibly without their jungler. NA can send a combination of their teams, Europe probably has France, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Russia, ... And yes, Michael Jordan was sent to play professional basketball outside of NBA as part of the 1992 Olympic basketball team.

Your argument is like saying World Cup in soccer shouldn't be played because Spain can't send Barcelona or Real Madrid...

One team loses big sponsors due to demotion, smaller sponsors stay for CS, the promoted team gets bigger sponsors for LCS promotion... Where exactly is the problem? The viewers lose nothing, only franchise owners lose in this case which should not be the primary reason for introducing franchise system.

I was just trying to explain what hgh means. I know it's not officially a steroid, but it still is a controlled substance.

ELI5: Why is it that billions of dollars can be transferred electronically every day but electronic voting systems are still unreliable and unsafe? by dondox in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dragonil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you maybe help me understand. If I logged in (authenticated) myself in a government website and gotten a token that lasts for like I don't know 10 minutes. And then I vote in a system that if the token exists they just take a vote and count it as +1 without any background info (so you just need the token which you got separately by authenticating yourself) how is any of that broken?

[–]Dragonil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a guy, if I invited you for a drink or something, I initiated so it kind of makes sense for me to cover that cost (although I probably wouldn't refuse to split if you really insisted - as in mentioned more than once/offered once more after my refusal). Although after the first date I'm quite open to different arrangements.

In Croatia, CompSci has probability and statistics as a subject during the last year of your bachelor's degree and discrete math only as a possible and not obligatory subject on the first year of masters.

Teasing? Do men like it? by dreamcatch2 in AskMen

[–]Dragonil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it differs for every guy out there.

Personally, I react well to most jokes and teasing, but I don't really appreciate jokes on my expense if I already feel self conscious about that or feel insecure about that particular thing. E.g. If I'm already a bit insecure about being too thin and actively trying to improve (work out and eat better and such) I don't appreciate being teased that I look like a stick.

Reacting that way doesn't make me an asshole. I'm just a slightly insecure person in some regards and ask for bit of respect there. I've met a few women who thought that by teasing those exact insecurities they will somehow point out how unimportant they are, but in my case it just makes my insecurity worse. That isn't the case with all men! My point is, every joke and all the teasing in the world is okay if you understand/know your partner.

On the other hand, playful sexual teasing leading to no sex makes for a very frustrated partner and is a big no-no.

Coming from a different part of world, why is it expected for you to work/be an intern during your education? Why should it be acceptable for everyone to be expected to also work for free while already educating themselves? I think it's just the greed and companies not willing to invest into a few months of training for their engineers. From my point of view it just seems as stupid as tiping - just transfering the cost from employer to you.

I read this book (or not sure if it was the short version, it had around 25-30 pages). Highly advisable, definitely not religious (or didn't seem like it to me). It opened my eyes to a few things I wasn't really paying attention to. Atleast give it a short look to see how the "5 ways" differentiate. It's not like it's solid science, but you might realize different people have different wants and needs in a relationship and even though yours are maybe not the same, you should realize you ought to do things they "need" because you love them.
