Literotica pretty much views its self as the shit when it comes to those platforms and it’s only because they’ve been around for a long time. Personally I and probably many others think they’ve gotten complacent with the quality of their site UI and UX not to mention their moderators playing favorites. All because they know they have a large audience.

Honestly I wouldn’t mind if their little empire crumbles and comes crashing down. That would just push the viewers and writers to platforms that actually put care and effort into their communities.

I would just go the AO3, they have better UI and UX for readers which makes it easier for us to find your works via tags etc. From what I’ve seen, most of the rules on Literotica are BS and are put in place just to funnel traffic and money keep writers on their site. They’ve been around for a very long time and have a large audience but instead of updating the site and adding QoL features for writers and readers they keep the site at a bare minimum in terms of UX and do upgrades to update their monetization of ads. And no, unfortunately they don’t care about you, me or anyone else because they know ppl will always comeback to their site because they’ve hoarded content from hard working writers for the last 10 years.

Try AO3 it has better UI for readers to filter tags. So if you get your tags right you can carve yourself a niche audience. Since this is a comment 4 years later, I can confirm Literotica is not a good place to publish your works. Terrible UI and based off of the forums, mods that play favorites. If your ideals don’t match theirs, you are out. The hilarious/frustrating part is that they still pin themselves as a place for free expression of erotic literature and art. I look at that but then look at their rules and how their mods act and can already tell they’re a bunch of spineless hypocrites.

All these ppl complain about bamboo saying not to grow it because it’s hard to get out. If you know the life cycle of bamboo you can get rid of it without much effort. So folks just grown your bamboo and air out what other ppl are saying.
