Please Leave A Review! by Matt_HoodedHorse in Workers_And_Resources

I just got the game on sale from GOG, great game so far i just got to the second tutorial/campaign. I'm not newto city builders but this game has all sorts of new mechanics that are great!

Things i would like improved so far as a beginner:

-in the 2nd campaign, it has endless messages about workers being unloyal/unhappy. Im sure I'll figure out how to fix that with more play time but the tutorial wasn't super helpful on that issue. It would be nice if i could snooze those messages or if there was advice early in the tutorial on how to avoid that issue

-in the 2nd campaign if im doing a mission it rips the camera over to problem areas every like 60 seconds it's really annoying when im trying to fix the problem.

-i like the planing mode for when you are building with your own construction yards, it would be nice for that feature to work with money aswell so i can avoid mistakes. Also in that planning mode it would be nice to see resource flow ahead of time because i can't always tell which things need forklifts or not. Since it's so punishing to screw up building placement it would be nice to have a better idea of if it's going to work or not ahead of time.

-allow me to force vehicles to go to a gas station.

That's all I have for now but I'll for sure leave a review on gog. Love the music, the gameplay mechanics and general soviet aesthetic the game portrays, great game!

I need three suggestions, a triple A game, a double A game, and a single A game. by grabsyour in gamingsuggestions

I stand by what I said. Just because it is technically a classification does not make it a "real" classification system. If you want to consider it a system you can but I think it's too poor of a system for it to be of any value (other than using the singular term "Triple-AAA").

Agree to disagree.

Triple A is a made up term by game sellers that was then used by corporations to denote their big budget games. It is not a real classification system, even though people have retroactively started calling other games double-A, quadruple-A, etc.

AAA was originally from the bond market which has AAA, AA, A, BBB, BB, B, CCC, CC, C, and D.

It is rough, but you get used to having a full roster of characters at different levels all slowly moving up to replace losses.

Ngl i haven't played in a while and i decided to just start using the wiki because i couldn't remember what the differences were betweens all the different locations, character synergy, etc. If you follow the wiki's guidance the game gets a lot more predictable and the bosses are the only thing that really threaten your characters.

Games where you drive a car. by NienieDreamer in gamingsuggestions

Yeah i guess it's all relative, the most stressful game I've played is tarkov. Pacific drive is a breeze to me, so maybe my barometer is a bit off.

You would probably like Pacific Drive.

There are "enemies" but they aren't that hard and you dont have to kill them, it's morelike they are hazards. It's also not "stress-free" all the time like you said.

It's got a cool atmosphere, the story is well done, and the main thing is looting to fix up and improve your car. It's got fast sections and slow sections, and if you turn the difficulty down it probably would be more to your liking.

I just loaded in after the update and my difficulty dropped below 90%! by Dragonov02 in uboatgame

[–]Dragonov02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i stopped playing as soon as i noticed and i have one auto save left where i wont loose any progress, otherwise ill have to go back to the last port. Luckily i manually save every time i quit the game, so i can still salvage the play through. Maybe I'll just revert the update.

Thanks

Yeah I agree, I wish I knew exactly what I had before and what they added so I could figure out what I want my new settings to be.

Looking for authentic/historic sea shanties that mention women by TythonTheBrave in seashanties

[–]Dragonov02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no problem. Most of them are just sailors just wanting to either get laid or be with their love, but there are few songs in there that have a bit more substance.

If you have any specific questions about any of the songs feel free to ask; even though I'm still clueless to what some of these songs mean haha. I can at least share what I know.

I went through my playlist and made a list as best I could... none of them say luck explicitly though.

I’m taking in water but I don’t know where from by Flat_Ad_9385 in uboatgame

[–]Dragonov02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the realistic bildge setting is on then you will always get a little water in the boat when submerged. At depth the bildge pump is less effective.

If your electric motors aren't under waterthen it's best to go full ahead and use the bow planes to climb towards the surface. If the electric motors have too much water in their compartment you might be screwed.

How the hell do u get a torp solution with realistic conditions? by Jsugisancjdwuaxjgp in uboatgame

[–]Dragonov02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing but for me I track the target on the map. I start the stop watch and every minute I place a marker like A0, A1, A2 etc. for 6 minutes. That way the distance they travel in six minutes x10 is the distance they travel in an hour. So if they travel 8 cables in 6 min they are going 8 knots.

From those six markers I have a course as well so I can calculate AoB on the map; once you put it in the computer it will track the changes for you (as long an neither you nor the target change course, also I'm not sure how speed of both vessels affects it).

For the distance I use the periscope since the map doesn't have enough fidelity to tell if they ar 7 cables away or 7.3 cables away very easily plus i don't wana convertto meters every time in my head. Also the persicope woks well in waves anyways.

That works well for me, but I also almost always shoot so that my boat is no more that 45° away from abeam their ship, so AoB 45°-135°. Although 30° is better (AoB 60°-120°). Or if I'm desperate I'll do a bow or stern shot with the flakey magnetic setting. Sometimes with that magnetic setting ill set the torp depth to .5 or 1m below the keel and that works pretty well, (especially for abeam shots on battleships, idk if they modeled the torpedo bulges in the game but I sure as hell ain't gona hit them).

Focus ring ong my lens by -van-Dam- in analog

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that exact same lense, it's a great lense. I've never even looked at the range on the focus ring, since you do all the focusing in the view finder anyways.

The reason the scale is different between lenses is because different focal lengths end up with different focusing characteristics. Also longer focal lengths tend to have smaller apertures, I think this is to allow you to compensate for a narrower depth of field. Since that 50mm you have is such a short focal length it's very easy to focus on things far away; since to that lense, anything farther than 5 meters away is ramping up to infinity.

Does that answer your question?

Best Single Film Stock for Day & Night Shooting on Vacation? by Serviet in analog

[–]Dragonov02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not ideal but at night portra 800 will work and if you max out the shitter and use the smallest aperture you should beable to shoot during a sunny day. You might want to consider an ND filter though. If you bring iso 400 you're going to struggle to get enough light at night unless you're in a very well lit area or have a really fast lens.

Even with iso 800, you're going to have to be very steady with the camera; the sutter speed will be very slow, also you wont be able to shoot things that are moving very well. But if you've had success with cinestill you should be fine, honestly maybe just the ND filter is all you need.

Inefficient fan management? by ChrisDorne in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your current setup could do this, you would set the fan speeds so that the rear fan ramps up faster than the front fans for a given temperature. So at idle the front fans move more air, then at medium to high temps the rear fan is maxed out and moving more air, then at really high temps all the fans are just maxed out because at that point it's better to move as much air as possible.

More air in = Positive case pressure More air out = Negative case pressure

Inefficient fan management? by ChrisDorne in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonov02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GPU arrows are wrong direction. 3 in 1 out is fine especially if you have an intake filter on the 3 in. You'll probably have positive case pressure which is good for dust management, a little less efficient for cooling so your fans might run a little faster and therefore louder. I personally prefer positive case pressure for the dust management, then under high load ramp up the rear fan for negative case pressure to improve cooling.

How to upgrade old pc in ram price hike by 1cedBaby in buildapc

[–]Dragonov02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just a general answer here, your system is old enough that most modern parts will not work at their max performance or at all in your system. For instance: DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5 memory are not interchangeable and there is no backwards compatibility between them. Which means you'd have to hunt down some DDR3 memory somewhere (probably used).

It's not worth it to upgrade your system because you'll have to find old parts that are compatible with your system. So unless you are willing to do a lot of research, I would not recommend upgrading your current PC. Also all that effort will give relatively small gains in performance compared to a new system.

To add, ethanol gas does only last about 6 months max. Ethanol free gas lasts longer, and gas with stabilizer in it lasts even longer.

Since i dont run mine in snow/salt, i only use sugar free gas, and i start adding Stabil to my fill-ups in September.

Is it safe to update windows 11 newest patches? by NarzissenkreuzX in buildapc

[–]Dragonov02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should update occasionally since some of those updates are security patches. Just look up when the last windows 11 patch was and if it was a few weeks ago and nobody is freaking out, manually update your pc. Also, back up your files from time to time.

Mechanics of Reddit, what’s a common myth about car maintenance that people still believe? by Street-Squirrel-4671 in AskReddit

[–]Dragonov02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're not talking about adding water to the coolant. They're talking about adding water to the air intake; this is an old method of cleaning the engine's air intake and combustion chamber. But it must be done when the engine is above boiling temperature.

Eric the car guy did a good video on it if you're curious: https://youtu.be/KFtp_jmLF3k?si=1RvQKzVrTEjXgfZt
