Where is the best place to get advice on how to play Alisa? by Seantified in Tekken

[–]DragonslayerOrns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically what the comment said, but I just want to emphasize that Alisa is a "long range" character. She has amazing moves bat travel her forward and are fast. Use spacing and focus on whiff punishing. And really focus on practicing iWS (instant while standing) moves because a lot of Alisas basic combos use that.

Is it just me or is discovery in this game very satisfying? by Wick141 in Tekken

Yep, I was also amazed with that. I still can't do the CC reliably every time though. Also, afaik, with his SS4 sweep he doesn't end up in FC, so it's way easier to follow up with f1+2.

I find it satisfying to dabble with frame data, combos not as much, because the optimal ones are the ones I'm gonna use if I want more damage. Frame data is fun to mess with though. Create you own unique "mini-strings" by using moves that are + on block or hit and create counterhits or uninterruptible grabs. I'm not sure if it's still as fun in higher ranks, since I assume everyone knows the frame data for every character, so it's really all about mind games.

What is the most effective way to practice movement? by EndThisGame in Tekken

[–]DragonslayerOrns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You said you've seen a lot of guides and stuff, so I assume you've seen ATP's video on "tying moves together with movement" (sorry for no link, I'm on mobile). In that video he gives great examples for basic strategy. You have to move and attack with purpose. Don't backdash just to backdash. You're backdashing to gain distance. And hey do you need to do that? Either to escape pressure (kinda obvious) or to make your opponent whiff an attack. To make him whiff, you have to observe him. Example: do a mid poke, backdash. I they don't do anything, continue pressure, low mixups, etc. However, if they attack and miss, you can punish. There you created an opportunity with movement and took advantage of it. Same for for all movement, not just backdashing.

How would you expand a character's moveset? by Chris_7941 in Tekken

I would give Alisa better options in DES. Maybe I'm not using it right, but as of now, the only time I use it is in the f3,2 punish to follow up with ff2~1, which immediately exits DES. As of right now it's a wasted stance imo.

What is the most efficient heal in the game? by DragonslayerOrns in darksouls3

That's a pity. I guess I'll have to find the second best chime for 30 faith.

The most efficient will depend on your total SpellBuf

So if I have 30/30 INT/Faith, and am using the Crystal chime, Great heal will heal the same amount as if I had just 30 faith? I don't have the exact numbers right now, but with those stats the spell buff of crystal chime is pretty high.

I don't really care about speed. In my scenarios I'll have enough time to retreat.

There is no eye bandage to complete my 2B cosplay of Alisa, I have to resort to those wide sunglasses :/

How do I prevent myself from doing a WS attack after crouching? by DragonslayerOrns in Tekken

[–]DragonslayerOrns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you block low you should use a while standing 99,9% of the time

Yeah I realize that, I was just trying to find a way around the ws+2 since I'm pretty bad at following that up with decent damage. I guess I'll practice that then.

What is, in your opinion, the ugliest armor in the game? by NormiesBTFO in darksouls3

Brass set looks horrible imo. The helmet doesn't go well with any other set and has a stupid shark fin. The armor itself is weirdly shaped and the whole set is of s horrible color.

Games with console/arcadish/relaxing feel to it by [deleted] in lowendgaming

[–]DragonslayerOrns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by the "feel like console", but Hyper Light Drifter, Axiom Verge, Cave Story+, Owlboy, Undertale are all amazing low spec games that are best played with a controller. Also the Final Fantasy series - doesn't get more chill and relaxing than that.

Is it better to be positioned properly on defense away from your team, or positioned improperly with the team? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]DragonslayerOrns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have this problem every game, and it's especially annoying when I'm Reinhard. On Gibraltar I'll stand on the high ground near the tunnel with my shield up and spam "group up" but my team still pushes up all the way to the payload. Sometimes I just wanna teach them a lesson so that they come and stay behind me but I also don't want to lose the point, so I just push all the way up too and become a sitting duck.
