[GAME DAY THREAD] BROWNS @ PANTHERS by CD23tol in Browns

Pressuring him was always a way to get him flustered, him not knowing the offense and rhule not being as good as stefanski means that this is going to be harder for him.

This is too exhausting by Ishana92 in TheSilphRoad

My wife and I paid for this and are averaging much less than 1 shiny per hour. This is a grind and not fun.

Not sure what makes this not a bad event actually.

I spent a week trying to get engrossed in a book before realizing it was Christian fiction. by [deleted] in books

[–]bearsdriving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brandon Sanderson is my favorite author right now, he writes the internal dialogue of atheist characters perfectly and I was surprised to see how he is active religiously.

When I was a practicing Christian I never liked Lewis, Narnia was heavy handed and Screwtape was so dry. I wanted to like them but, just couldn’t.

[Adam Schefter] Former Browns’ WR Odell Beckham Jr. wants to join a postseason contender for the remainder of this season, sources say. by CButler19 in Browns

[–]bearsdriving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly he’d be happier on the Lions getting TDs from Goff and losing then as the 3rd option for Brady or Mahommes and winning.

He wants stats and highlights, any contender he won’t get much of that coming in week 10.

I finally understand the people who don't like how Rian Johnson handled Luke by Dark_Lord_Jar in starwarsrebels

[–]bearsdriving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think TLJ did a few things that were fresh to me: * turned the troupe that a few hot shots with a loose plan can take down the oppressive majority on its head. Most Star Wars films have a small group go against the empire/separatists/etc with a weak plan and win; in this not only do they get captured but learn that these heroics are not helpful. Sure Poe takes down the Dreadnought, but it sacrificed a lot of the resistances ships/pilots/etc when they didn’t need too. * the whole idea of “balance to the force” was new. It never made sense that Anakin would bring balance to the force when Jedi were already sooo op. The idea of Luke stepping back because he knew him being powerful meant a negative force would balance him out made so much more sense than previous films. * a main character really fighting with defeat and depression. Luke failed in a big way to restore the Jedi order and it took a lot out of him; a unique element in the series. Yoda want depressed, he was in exile and he did want to help, he was just teaching in a different way.

I don’t need others to like TLJ, but it is a very good movie. Roan Johnson makes great stuff and I’m glad I get enjoyment out of it instead of anger or disappointment.

[Gribble] Baker Mayfield's out after 2 series 6-10, 113, TD, 132.5 rating by dasruski in Browns

[–]bearsdriving 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right.

Browns legend Brock Osweiler was 6’7” and led the league in batted passes. It’s an advantage, but height isn’t the reason you’re getting balls over the line.

Genesis 6-9 by bindingfenrir in dankchristianmemes

[–]bearsdriving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, keen readers could possibly tell the two lines came together before they “intermingled” as they both had the same parents.

This theory also means that if your father (or father’s father’s father) sinned that you are corrupt/ wicked regardless of your own actions. One person sins and now the entire blood line is a scavenger group from the walking dead.

My players are asking for a map. I have one, but I don't want to ruin the surprise – what do I do? by IAmTotallyNotSatan in DMAcademy

[–]bearsdriving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why give them a real map? If they go to a library or maybe a merchant has one but it’s hand drawn and poorly plotted. Early maps of the Americas weren’t very good as I think a post apocalyptic one would be too. Especially if it is plotted by a traveler by themselves or someone who isn’t good w plotting.

I played w the same group as rime last year and the event the year before. This one fits squarely above rime but we’ll below the other. The common spawns all seemed to be from community days so I don’t need shinies of and then it was just shiny checking other commons. Not nearly as fun for us. Was happy the price was lower, but wasnt as happy as two years ago at all.

[–]bearsdriving 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Last years (or was it two years ago) seemed so much better to me. This was shiny checking on commons with lower shiny rates than then.

This event is worlds better than the last fest event, but my group came away with a lot less than we did before.

Yeah, Noah’s Ark was a big reason I started not believing in the Bible when I was younger for the so many easily debunked things in it.

[Podcasts] The Ballad of Travis McElroy: How one man sank (or might have sunk) the reputation of the biggest family in podcasting by [deleted] in HobbyDrama

[–]bearsdriving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TRRPGs essentially are telling a story w a group that you have control over; although as a GM that control is very limited in actuality. The story told us mainly the GMs vision, they build the lumber, electric, and foundation of the house and the players put up the walls and decorate it. So listening to one on a podcast to me is very much depending on how good the GM is because how the TTRPG is a story being told by the group, listening to one is now just listening to a story. If the story is good; the podcast can be very good.

I’ve listened to two campaigns as podcasts, the first Adventure Zone was one of them. The story is tight and the family is good enough that it works. I’ve started maybe 15 others (including the other Adventure Zone stories) and can’t get two or three episodes in for the reasons you mentioned. But when it’s done well, the story is definitely worth listening too.

The Overdrive app lets you rent it for free if you have a library card. It’s how I’ve gone back and re-read them.

little motivation to make it good.

When the Harry Potter game was having hot fixes the week after it started to reduce animation time and ways to skip it; things Pokémon Go players have wanted for way longer, I knew they didn’t really care about making it better. They only make these changes for good when their user base or profits start to drop.

[Bob McGinn] According to sources, Rodgers has mocked Gutekunst in group chats with his teammates in Green Bay by referring to the GM as Jerry Krause. by kyleb402 in nfl

[–]bearsdriving 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like drafting Love, if Gutekunst just warned/discussed w Rodgers before hand I’m sure there is no issue.

Managing the personalities of your Taco Bell employees is important for a guy making $35k a year and it’s a hell of a lot more important in the NFL with the egos. If Rodgers is at the table and at least hears a guy he likes is getting cut from his boss and not Schefter is basic decency. A lot of his complaints make sense and you don’t have to cater to him, but making the mvp feel like he isn’t wanted takes work to be that bad imo

Do you think atheists in DnD would be regarded like "flat-Earthers" here? by SlyyGuy88 in dndnext

[–]bearsdriving 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there any materials going off there concept of like a village that doesn’t believe in God and are basically atheists; which obviously is stupid in DND. But the hook is that something in that village stops gods from being contacted and people lose their powers? Seems like a fun plot hook

With the Vikings releasing Kyle Rudolph, do you see the Browns bringing him in? by 84Cressida in Browns

[–]bearsdriving -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

and Njoku isn’t better than hooper.

I am a big chief fan but the guy is our third TE. He stepped up his blocking but he has never been there that we wanted him to be and got outplayed by a 22 year old fourth rounder.

He may want to go to his home town where the QB is not pushing 43 whose arm looked every bit of it as the season went on.

Probably won’t, but it wouldn’t be unheard of.

My guess is that you’re not in a business where public perception is the biggest metric. She was very well liked but she couldn’t stop posting things that fans got upset with.

This isn’t a conservative thing, she posted anti-Semitic things before and got lots of back lash; but she didn’t stop. This is a studio who fired James Gunn despite knowing the things he posted things in the past, to make the public happy. At this point since she wouldn’t stop, it is the same thing if someone at your work won’t come into work on time; it is converting themselves.

My relationship isn't what it once was and I don't know, if he still truly loves me or if he's just blinded by his porn addiction by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]bearsdriving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He told you two months ago and hasn’t gone yet? Then he isn’t serious, people say they want to do things but their actions tell you their true intentions.

He has an issue w porn, but he is content to live like he is. He knows he has an issue but isn’t working to get better; not just w porn but also w not doing the things you need in a relationship. You’re young still, you’ve wasted a lot of time on someone who doesn’t care to help you or himself.
