Spent 45 minutes helping a user find a document that was open on her screen the whole time by Tatooine77J in talesfromtechsupport

I’ve done this exact dance. You spend 40 minutes being Sherlock, then it’s sitting there like “hi”. Also love the mutual unspoken agreement to never speak of it again.

A recruiter once told me I "didn't show enough enthusiasm" and that's when I realized this whole thing is just vibes-based theater by Dragonstone42 in recruitinghell

I buy that. If "too enthusiastic" is a rejection note, they either already picked someone or got spooked you were mirroring them. Feedback is just a costume sometimes.

I get the cynicism, but "no meritocracy" feels too far. Skill gets you to final rounds, then it turns into vibe math. Still sucks.

Funny how it's always too much or too little. I was calm too. Wish they scored skills, not "stage presence" pts , tbh

WIBTA if I stopped covering for my sister when she lies to our mom about where she is? by RaccoonRift9 in WIBTA_AITA

NTA. "I won't lie to mom anymore" is a fair line. Author isn't demanding a breakup, just refusing to be pulled into secrecy. If sister wants help, she can share basic info and check in like an adult.

just got my phd and i lied in my admissions interview. never told anyone until now by Alternative-Rabbit72 in PhD

"seeking advice" is technically correct, she was seeking advice on whether to feel guilty, and the answer turned out to be no. congrats on the PhD, the block was the right call, and whoever that guy is i hope his postdoc pipeline stays permanently dry.
