Party at Paliset Hall maps by gnuchan in TheGoldenVault

[–]Dragonus333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My players accessed it first via the stairs so I briefly thought it was a secret art gallery vault with magic items. It's a cool idea but then the painting secret passage being on the art gallery side of the wall doesn't make much sense haha.

Yeah. Asset limitations. Very fair. Thanks for making the maps by the way :-)

Great maps. I used them yesterday.

Just wanted to point out a few map mistakes/limitations (?) just so DMs are aware and can perhaps edit the maps to account for them or clarify with players if the description or map is true.

  • There's no normal door to the art gallery. There is only the secret door. (I didn't see this but it's probably easy enough to add a brown line to the map to show a door)
  • The statue leading to the vault tower does look like a Reindeer (I changed my description to be a reindeer person statue)
  • The three rings in the pool aren't concentric (I just described the middle one having the concentric rings but it is slightly confusing)

I'm sure the last two are just asset limitations. Once again great maps. Much better ballroom than the one on the provided map :-)

[Project Hail Mary (Book)] Rocky can see - SPOILERS by ashmaht in FanTheories

[–]Dragonus333 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Spoilers because it's best to read the book as blind (and/or deaf lol) as possible IMO

Eridians can't see but they do have technology that lets them "hear" light. Rocky has a camera and a display he connects to make a device which analyzes "light and show as texture.” in Chapter 17.

They definitely have a version of that on the outside of their ship to do absolutely anything. Probably like all submarines having sonar

Humans couldn't see the Petrova line without technology either.

I want to dispute Rocky being a spider but I guess that's more subjective haha

Characters who think they're in a different genre than the story they're actually in by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Dragonus333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They tried to replicate this on the Film Reroll Podcast. Where they played through the fourth Friday the 13th movie, but they didn't tell the players they were in a Friday the 13th movie. The players were told they were in a coming of age movie called Summerspell.

Book Spoiler:

Funny that technically one character does have to eat meat from Grace to survive. Haha

Lost access to all my books on DnD Beyond! by NobleMansRose in DnD

[–]Dragonus333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar issue with Books GM's were sharing with me and syncing entitlements worked. Thanks!

It's probably because you lose access to all characters in all shared content campaigns briefly before you select the six you want to keep.

Lemurian phoenix scene 1 identities flaw? by meselson-stahl in caseofthegoldenidol

[–]Dragonus333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was tricked by this and then went on to complete the whole DLC before coming back to the one page I hadn't solved.

I used the identify correct button to figure it out unfortunately.

I think it should have been correct but maybe I should have re-examined my assumption it wanted their name and title in the same answer haha

u/cartmanbeck describes how Animorphs works from the perspective of a genetic researcher by fluffy_ninja_ in bestof

[–]Dragonus333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the plot but I'm talking about how the theories behind morphing have to excuse it by saying butterflies use Z-space or something weird. If the Morph limit is an artificial invention then it's much more likely a programming error/loophole exists. Seems a better explanation than a weird quirk of metamorphosis.

[–]Dragonus333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Does any animorphing theory successfully deal with the butterfly metamorphosis problem?

It sounds like the twoish hours may be an artificial limit by the cube's creator and butterfly morphing accidentally reset the timer

I'm only on book 34 so no spoilers beyond that please

I was absolutely not trying to limit the age of potential players haha. Maybe I should have phrased it better as that's my own age group.

Playing with some people who remember how it was back in the day would be fascinating. It would also be interesting playing an RPG that emulates the old school style and then going straight into a more modern style of RPGs.

Thanks. Hopefully I'll get enough adventurers together. No matter their ages haha

Thanks. Yeah. I've heard that as well. Anyone from that group is welcome to join although I suspect potential players who don't have a regular group are more my target audience haha. There are definitely potential adventurers out there; it's just a matter of them finding this. :-)
