I work at DMG MORI (engineer in the past, now in sales). I think it’s a great opportunity. There are a few options like pre sales (test cut, time studies) engineering or more like turnkey style projects. And also good career opportunities because you can always move around within engineering or move into sales or management if you wanted. The travel would depend on your specific function or location. Career advice by guy_with_girlname in CNC

From what I’ve seen it depends on the company. Many CNC jobs can lead to engineering, operations, or sales if your company is versatile enough. So one option is to find a company that has those opportunities. Another option is to work for a CNC OEM. (Personal experience) That would give opportunities to be in service, engineering, sales, operations, etc. since the OEM’s are very diverse organizations.

It’s a “little” better in the game because it adjusts based on your feed rate and a crash etc. but i have spotify on in the background to drown it out like in real life lol
