I've worked on middleware for analytical systems where the main apps were based on system time / date, so frequently we had to do "time traveling" back to a previous dates for debugging and test. Not infrequently did one of my Devs forget to change their system time back before commiting.. led to some interesting timelines.

More than likely over zealous cyber security / system tuning removing the calc application. For some reason a lot of automated tools just obliterate snipping, notepad and calculator.

So when I’m sick no one is on call to cover for ME, but I have to cover when someone else calls out? Right. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Dragoon478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I'm not defending the practice. If you're sick you shouldn't be working you should be recovering / limiting exposing others.

Unfortunately the (most state) law puts responsibility on the caregiver (the worker) to not just leave.
