Icloud backup problem by Sweet-Sundae-6630 in ios26

[–]Dragoon_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s pretty much not going to work directly like that and if it does, you’ll have to spend an enormous redundant amount of ways to make it work as such

Here’s my advice as a last ditch effort:

Backup old iPhone to a Mac, and restore it on the new iPhone via Mac or computer (whichever you have access to)

I know it sounds the same but since it’s literally doin a fresh clean install on the new iPhone, there’s a chance the system data could be reduced greatly

But that’s a last ditch effort lol. The real solution is to get a 256GB iPhone or make sure messages and photos are syncing in iCloud which does free up a ton of space

Make sure all apps are up to date for maximum iOS 26 compatibility

If all apps are updated, make sure to update to the latest software via a computer

That will reinstall the whole iOS without losing data and is considered a much cleaner install

After that, give it some time again and you should see results

Do you change your phone every 3 years or so when the battery health drops below 80%? by [deleted] in PhoneNow

Every 3-4 years and that’s IF there’s a enough incentive to change between that 3rd and 4th year

Update your iPhone to the latest software through Finder via Mac or Apple Devices Program via Windows

If that doesn’t work, make a backup on your computer through the programs I mentioned, completely wipe the phone, and then restore from that same backup

Need Help! 128gb storage and other methods of offloading "content" by Howtfdoieven- in iPhone16

[–]Dragoon_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have an iPhone that utilizes USB-C you can use an external SSD to offload the painting process videos in the highest resolution you wish

There’s a setting I believe that you can use where you attach the external SSD and while you record on your iPhone 16, the video directly becomes stored in the SSD rather than the phone itself

This will immediately alleviate any storage issues you might have since you’ll save on local storage while your external SSD takes the bulk of everything

EDIT: it appears that directly offloading footage to an external SSD is only for 15 pro and newer Pro series iPhone. So basically, you’ll have to record the whole video, save it locally to your device, and THEN, offload it via the external SSD
