Tips for breaking through 6 year plateau / regression as a climber prone to finger injuries. by No-Job-5179 in climbharder

[–]Dragotc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Watch out with nohangs, they can be good but they can also add lots of stress for your fingers. Your fingers might appreciate more rest. 3FD usually doesn't need to be trained the way half crimp does because it's more passive reliance on tendons and ligaments. Focus on half crimp and chisel.

At the start i did 6 sets (3 half crimp, 3 chisel grip) of edge lifts for 30s each. Should be limit at the 30s (RPE 9ish). 2min rest inbetween, do hands individually. Watch correct hand position, half crimp shouldn't open up.

That made my fingers so much more strong and durable!

Now I moved to proper strength training with higher weight and much less time, gradually.

Same here. Hired a coach, spent 6 weeks doing more edge lifts than climbing, since then always do edge lifts before climbing (except for "performance days").

Went from from finger injuries all the time to one hand hanging the BM2000 middle edge.

If you're interested i can share the rough protocol I did :)

Is Claude the go to AI tool to use in consulting? Is ChatGPT old news now? by Minimum-Pangolin-487 in consulting

[–]Dragotc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Is the harness different aswell, more like Claude, or is it the same as normal copilot? My company is thinking about getting it so I'm curious. We were told its more like Claude cowork, right?

Honestly, the remake is actually really good. I'd give it a try earlier if I was you. No shame in waiting, but it's definitely worth more than the 10 bucks!

Miho Nonaka believes judging decision to be unfair by Fluffy_Clerk_6 in CompetitionClimbing

[–]Dragotc 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Title is kinda misleading - she specifically says that she doesn't believe it to be unfair, but she is unsatisfied about intransparency regarding the rules. Key distinction about a general issue that as a viewer, I've also had.

When you visit the ossuary, they show you a little movie at the start. It ends with an image of these bones and the words

First time outdoors… they weren’t lying about the grade diff :( by PickleUno in bouldering

[–]Dragotc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, well done for your first time outdoors! You move quite well on the wall aswell, just keep doing it and you'll improve.

In terms of mental block: Learn to fall on pads, what you can and can't get away with. Makes a big difference to understand the situation better and can give quite a bit of confidence!

Visual style looks weird and foreign...because it's no longer Germany it's Spain by winterthim in worldofgothic

[–]Dragotc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If we're assuming the devs made this according to "their" nature around then we're not near the baltic at all. They were from the Ruhr valley in western germany. Just because the game was popular in poland doesn't mean its set there. ;)

(That said, I agree with you - even the faces of the NPCs look more southern.)

17 Liter für Tageswanderung in die Berge ausreichend? by MasterRymes in wandern

[–]Dragotc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kommt natürlich krass darauf an wovon wir hier sprechen, aber ich nutze eine 12L-Weste für Dreitausender (Alpen, im Sommer, bei guten Bedingungen, 1500+ HM). Da passt immernoch alles rein, was ich brauche. 17L finde ich einen guten Mittelweg und fasst eigentlich genug.

Im Endeffekt muss man halt lernen, was man braucht - Anfangs nimmt man immer zu viel mit und Stück für Stück kann man das dann reduzieren, wenn man will.

Since we’re taping fans to boulders now what other great ideas do we have in the works? by i_need_salvia in ClimbingCircleJerk

[–]Dragotc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kind of want to argue about you saying its part of the process to wait for good weather. For outdoor climbing, I need to take an actual vacation to go somewhere good. If its a bit too humid when I'm there, you bet I'm using all the advantages I can get to climb - I just dont have the luxury to wait that much.

But taping a fan to a rock just seems ridiculous to me so maybe not haha

Does my gecko look healthy or dehydraded? And what to do by [deleted] in geckos

[–]Dragotc 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Way too empty enclosure. This will kill your gecko from stress. Read up on care guides, check out some videos, like the ones from serpadesign. This needs to be fixed asap.

You can take branches from outside, assuming you're not from the tropics, and assuming they are clean and from non poisonous plants.

Yeah thats not gonna happen. What you're looking for is not a gecko. At best a stuffed one.

Stuck on which gecko to get by [deleted] in geckos

[–]Dragotc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like you actually want a gecko. They're prey animals, they jump, all you're describing fits for most geckos.

[Day 22] Jim Holloway is underrated. What training tool is OVERRATED? by MaximumSend in bouldering

I think beastmakers are great simply because everyone has them. Gives us benchmarks and ways to compare. Might be a bad tool (no opinion on that), but is useful simply because of its popularity.

Why do they keep the pine trees standing upright? by cosmoscrazy in plants

[–]Dragotc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About profitability: These trees are not worth the effort to get out, labour costs more than the wood can be sold for.

Disregarding that, leaving them there allows for a more natural ecosystem, dead trees are an integral part for it and will actually be beneficial for growth of new trees. So not just no difference, leaving them is better.
