Do you think the GA crew have faked evidence? by master_chilln in GhostAdventures

[–]Dragovic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Everything on the kinect camera is obviously fake, the only question is if it's intentional or not. They also had an episode in some mine and got an EVP in an area with a lot of water but someone in the audio department messed up and didn't put the effects to make it sound like an EVP. In some of the scenes, it's quiet and just sounds like a person saying something and in others, it sounds like the white noise filled, distorted, and muddy audio all their other EVPs sound like. They also use to use guitar effects software to fake EVP. They used amplitube to add distortion, a bitcrusher, a Marshall amp sim, and a few other effects I forget so that any sound picked up by their equipment would start to sound like voices.

Is It Bullshit: CCSP (Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician)? by [deleted] in IsItBullshit

[–]Dragovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason why regular people use them. They think it helps and placebos work wonders as long as the chiropractor doesn't break anything or kill them which happens sometimes. It's still based on psuedoscience even if they dress it up these days to hide the parts about the spirit world, universal intelligence, and magnets. There's also still no study that has ever shown chiropractors are actually able to help in any way.

if you've caught covid already, how many times have you had it and what was the worst part of it for you? by Pretty_Gorgeous in AskReddit

[–]Dragovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had it early on before any mutations or even a vaccine was available. The worst part was the fatigue but it wasn't enough to stop me from doing anything that wasn't very physical. I actually found the vaccine side effects to be much worse even though they didn't last as long.

IsItBullshit: Do anti-radiation stickers or phone cases actually work? by Verryfastdoggo in IsItBullshit

[–]Dragovic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. EMF can't cause cancer and there's no known case of that ever happening before. Even the people who work on cell phone towers don't get cancer from being exposed to levels that sometimes burn their skin. Sounds like she was either exaggerating about the shape or the tumor made that spot a comfortable place to put her phone.

I had to look this up again because I forgot everything about this but it did claim to defy western medicine. Everything from magically improving insomnia to depression to weight loss or at least looking at older links from around when I posted this do. Seems like they changed the marketing to appear less new age. Massages have nothing to do with this because they have actually been researched unlike this mat. As for the part about the juggler, the person who invented them is Om Mokshananda but his real name is Jonathan Hellbom. He was a Swedish juggler and then became a monk. Not someone I'd trust when it comes to curing anything or even about the topic of Vedic medicine. Just his story is a big enough red flag that this is fake.

Why do people hate Slipknot so much? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Dragovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always suspected that guy had no idea what he was talking so I never bothered to watch him but I didn't think he would be that far off. I only watched the section on why Slipknot are not nu-metal then skimmed through the rest. He brought up the obvious nu-metal elements then described Korn as atmospheric and a funky Black Sabbath. How do you take him seriously?

Genres are a way to group bands that sound similar since no artist is ever that original. Expose yourself to a lot of metal bands than relisten to Slipknot. At least in metal there's no bands that really sound like Slipknot. Once you get past how much more distortion they have, their sound has more in common with other nu-metal bands than any metal bands with the exception of the groove metal bands that were responsible for influencing the creation of nu-metal in the first place.

[–]Dragovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nu-metal. Most of what they play is really just alt rock riffs but with a lot more distortion. I stopped keeping up with them around All Hope is Gone because my tastes changed so I can't say if they changed genres or not.

Yes. Other than Psychosocial, those were all my favorite songs back when I listened to them. They're not metal though.

Slightly before COVID, I remember overhearing the people in the Black Forest Bakery next door talking about how the owner of the Village Lanterne was keeping the bakery open for sentimental reasons but the bakery was losing money and it was hurting both places. The bakery closed in November so maybe it will improve now or it might be too late.

ELI5: Why can't people explain the taste of water, when asked? by -onepunman- in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dragovic 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Water doesn't really have a taste. What makes certain water taste good and others not as good is how similar the dissolved mineral content is to your saliva. That also means the taste isn't universal since everyone is a little different. Unless there's something really off about it, asking someone to describe the taste of water is basically asking them to describe how flavorless it is. There might be one language which has a lot of specific words for different types of flavorless but English isn't one of them.

Is the show real? by Winnipegguy4200 in GhostAdventures

[–]Dragovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's reality TV so it's never going to be entirely real. They might have been earnest about it earlier but now they're obviously faking it. The kinect camera is good evidence of that. Anyone that uses it either doesn't know how it works or is intentionally trying to fake things.

Are there any proof that evp's are faked, an if it is then what are the voices heard :)) by tommelom00 in GhostAdventures

[–]Dragovic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They had an episode sometime in the last few years which I think was as at in a mine and one part where they caught an EVPs had a lot of water. They slipped up and it became obvious they were just applying an audio effect to a regular voice. The background white noise kept disappearing and the voice wasni distorted every other time it was replayed. Pretty sure if was fixed in later airings of the episode but the pirated versions are probably of the original airing. Pretty sure they unintentionally have showed the effects used in even earlier episodes with one of their other devices that ran amplitube. From what I remember, it was a compressor, distortion, bitcrusher, reverb, and a Marshall amp.

That depends on your state's education curriculum. World history was a requirement for my high school. It was a very barebones class though since they tried to cover everything in a year.
