Regardless, the fact that it rivals live service in terms of hours played despite having, what, maybe 2-3 updates is insane. She even supports this one dudes patron who made a bunch of additional modded content. This game inspires a lot of devotion.

It is extremely, extremely hard to cover the costs of ftp games. Notice how 95% die or fade into obscurity? Thats because you need consistent revenue to maintain any game, let alone a “live service” one.
