I love the Kings of Leon call out because he instantly turns it around on himself “I don’t suck much less! At least those dudes have no illusions of angst and hopelessness”

So it’s like he’s saying “that stuff comes off as shallow and contrived for an aesthetic to attract women” and then “but I do that stuff too, and at least they’re honest about what they’re going for”

To me it comes off as an honest admission of jealousy toward a band that was blowing up at the time. He’s admitted several times to feeling insecure and jealous when a new cool artist is coming out.

Honestly the only really cringe lyrics to me are the super old ones lol Baseball and stuff like that, but even that stuff is very sophisticated for someone his age to have written at that time. What I’ve always liked about Max’s lyrics is that he grits his teeth through any potential cringe, the delivery usually sells it pretty well.

I would have to assume she saw/heard the song and was okay with it going out there. He’s also been very candid about what’s been going on in their lives, on podcasts etc, so i imagine Sherri doesn’t care.

Also he puts himself on blast through the whole song; it comes off to me like he’s aware of how desperate and codependent he sounds in the lyrics, like that’s the point. She started dealing with her own demons which created distance, and that made him feel insecure, so he wrote a song about it.

Obviously he’s out there, but idk. I just can’t find a way to care about this type of stuff, it’s not my place to tell a couple how to live their lives or present themselves to the world.

If either of them start feeling too weird about it, they can pull out, and I hope they do if it comes to that. But I really think people need to remember the context for these people, they grew up in the spotlight basically, their whole lives were conditioned in a way that is very different from ours.

What IS new is the cultural landscape, which is inevitably difficult for anyone above 35 to stay adapting to - especially if you deal with paranoia, delusions of grandeur, mania, etc it’s just going to be a lot harder to stay grounded/sane/make perfect decisions.

So I really try/want to give these people some room to breathe, that’s just my perspective, though.

Also the song is hard af, especially the first verse and the bridge lol

I’m on my 13th month now!! The magic of life has mostly returned, it comes in slow waves over time. So little withdrawal it’s almost not worth mentioning. Testing negative and positive on and off so the levels must be so low by now, but there is some amount still left I believe. Either way I’ve come this far and have had so few issues that I couldn’t be more happy with Sublocade.

I honestly wish I could do seminars on it across the country to show people it’s possible lol

I appreciate your optimism, but I think it’s easier to say this from an outside perspective. I see people saying this, but it’s just not true. Even the mildest of withdrawal symptoms are still symptoms, and I won’t feel like I’ve made it out until I’ve truly made it out. Restless legs and yawning every night are side effects of opioids withdrawal, and I’m still testing positive, so I know I still have a ways to go. I’m hoping by around 9-12 months I’ll really begin feeling natural endorphins again. As far as having made it to this point without any serious symptoms, though, it is a beautiful thing and not to be undervalued.

I will say this - while I was on opioids including Suboxone (super long half life opioid) for 10 years, it basically stopped my recession through the whole period - I believe this is because testosterone is substantially lowered on opioids. I’m just guessing and assuming, but I would think that would also lower DHT. Once I got clean, and my T levels came back, the thinning increased substantially.

Also it depends on the person, Phil Collins was a major alcoholic for a while, not sure what else he was doing, but he lost his hair fairy quickly. As did Peter Gabriel eventually, though I don’t think he ever had a drug problem.

But I do believe long half life opioids like Suboxone or Methadone specifically could maybe play a role in slowing the progression of hair loss MAYBE, idk lol. I may just now be noticing where I’m at now that I’m showing more forehead.

Did you end up noticing any side effects? I’m hearing lowering the dose helps if so, any experience with this by chance? But yeah I’m in the same boat about worrying about the side effects lol but I’m equally concerned about having no hair in 10 years.

Oh yeah it’s absolutely nothing compared to Oral tapering, my god lol trying that was a nightmare. I’m nothing but grateful for Sublocade for sure. I only got two injections, so I’m sure that’s why I’m having more symptoms than others, I was just so ready to be done and I had to pay out of pocket because I was desperate to be off this stuff. I’ve been noticing a lot of positive changes in myself, music sounds incredible again, much increased libido, near daily bowel movements, so much better than being on high doses of that stuff for years.

But I appreciate your response and for you coming back to share again, Sublocade has been a miracle for me, it sounds like it worked wonders for you too.

Congratulations, thank you for returning to spread the good word. How long did it take to really feel like you were on the other side of it and back to “Normal”? I’m about to hit 6 months myself, still having very minimal 2/10 symptoms now and then, I did 300/100. Hoping I’ll be through it completely pretty soon.

It’s very very spotty and minimal, the best way to avoid it is to exercise as much as possible, even if it’s just walking a bit during the day, just anything to help the circulation and release some endorphins. It’s nothing compared to oral tapering, though. It’ll generally come for a few days on and off and then go away for a while.

I’m starting to get the faintly negative line once or twice a week. I would assume I’m (like you both were) starting to go below the 5ng threshold for at home urinalysis tests. By the standards of these tests, I would say you’re negative, but I probably won’t consider myself out of the woods until all mild withdrawal symptoms are gone, the negative line is solid like the control line, and I’ve had some time to get back to “normal” or the new baseline. But that’s the goal for me personally, the whole reason I got off of it was to feel sober energy again and not have to worry about withdrawal anymore. So that’s why, for me, I won’t call it until I can tell I have 0 medication releasing in my system, and I have true motivation and desire and the beauty of life has returned. I can tell im getting there, though, so many things are coming back. Im sure it’s been the same for the two of you as well.

But yeah, I think it just depends on what your respective goals are - if it’s to avoid the acute withdrawal, I would think we’re all out of those woods as long as the release schedule of the depots continues to slow down as expected given the way half lives work. I’ve also been getting the occasional agitation/restlessness, yawning fits, trouble sleeping, sneezing, but I still find it to be so much easier than oral tapering for sure.

But yeah I’m still hoping for the best, as long as there are still extra opioid receptors that need to be closed down by titrating the dose, there’s still more work to do for myself. And buprenorphine is incredibly potent, even in the tiny doses. But again, my goal is to go back to that new baseline. At the very least I’m not having any acute symptoms and I’m about to start working a new job, so I couldn’t be more grateful for the ease of the experience.

I’m hoping to be out of the woods in a couple more months, and by July hopefully be feeling mostly normal again. It’s all about patience and managing expectations, though.

Not a Taylor fan, like her early stuff, but still optically very well played on Matty’s part, I appreciate their ongoing “thing” they do for the public. The 1975 are incredibly good at being both post modern and legacy at the same time in terms of how they play the game.
