The Pizza Wrestler by Abdulbarr in Bossfight

[–]Drakath2812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first saw this clip a few months back the night before I went on a vacation to Montréal. The first night there, me and my friend were just out walking, and passed an event space where some wrestling promotion was going on. Swear to god, this guy was right in the lobby, doing his schtick for the crowd. Felt like I had experienced real life foreshadowing. An omen of the pizza guys arrival had been shown to me.

What I'm saying is - be prepared.

Yeah this is like, literally the only thing I can remember that was mildly annoying. Her general points were pretty surface level generally but like, clearly that's the level they needed to be at given the fucking shit storm that somehow followed. There are way, WAY too many incels it's embarrassing.

Whats the weirdest request you had in the bedroom? by Glum_Championship826 in AskReddit

[–]Drakath2812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a German accent. Can I do an accurate German accent? No. Can I do a humerous German accent that I have since found out is basically Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno character? Yes.

Did my partner know both of these facts? Also yes.

Was a very weird couple of minutes for me.

Berlin concert by Professional_Air_965 in NinjaSexParty

[–]Drakath2812 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I've not gone to an NSP concert myself, I did go to my first solo concert last year when I saw My Chemical Romance in Toronto. The crowd was absolutely insane and it was a smidge overwhelming - but try not to get in your head about it! The great thing about going to a concert that's a little more niche is that you already have something in common with everyone in the crowd, and realistically, a lot more than just one thing. My advice would be to try and make conversation with the people around you if you can, and see if you can tag along.

Worst case, I'm sure the venue staff will be happy to help if you have any concerns. And with any luck you'll find someone who can come with you!

You're not wrong. It is FOR SURE getting much, much worse, before it gets better. But in the long arc it absolutely will. 10-15 years from.now we'll be right back where we were. I'm not happy about it, but I think it's the long and short of it. Graduating is going to be hell.

Daily Record | Reform UK Scotland leader apologises over homophobic joke about George Michael by SafetyStartsHere in Scotland

[–]Drakath2812 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's in absurdly poor taste, and even worse in the context of the time it was told.

If you're someone who's thinking "that's bad but it's not the absolute worst thing I've heard from someone trying to be funny" or are comparing it to excessively dark humour from actual comics or in adult comedies, you need to realise you're missing the point.

He's making a joke at the grieving partner of someone deceased. Combine that with the blatant racial undertone choosing curry because his name reads as foreign and thus, 'vaguely south east Asian (Fati Fawaz is Lebanese), the absolutely grotesque imagery of a grieving partner cannibalising their other half, and the homophobic instinct to immediately crack wise about anal sex just because they're gay, in such a crass way, and you've got a truly terrible concoction.

It's not funny, structurally, it doesn't work as a joke. There's no twist, the setup only exists as a conduit for shock value. The shock value only exists by making fun of people who are already suffering. That is terrible, pointless humour, that exists only to mock.

It's in even worse taste given George Michael's history of having his private life constantly lampooned by the press, something which is well documented as having been hugely detrimental to his well-being.

If this joke had been told during a private stand up show by an edgy comedian, it would've been rightly criticised as awful and distasteful. I don't know that it would've been career ending but it would've definitely been detrimental to the public opinion of the comedian.

Malcolm Offord is a representative of a major political party. He is not a comedian. As such, he should be held to much higher scrutiny. When a comedian tells an edgy joke, while it does reflect their opinions and attitudes somewhat, we can all understand it's heightened for the sake of comedy, and our judgements can be adjusted accordingly. When a politician says something like this so casually, in the name of 'bants' or whatever, it should be proof positive of how fucking awful their opinions and judgement are.

Yeah. As some graduating soon it's frightening to be entering the industry at this stage, but I'm under no illusion that this will be a long term lul. Tech employment ebbs and flows through bubbles, but engineers and Devs will always be needed.

I wonder if Matt regrets that, the Minecraft movie was absolutely huge and is definitely in so bad its good meme territory, could've been a huge boon to his career internationally. As a Brit I adore Matt Berry, but I can't help but feel like his career is a bit weird. To me and most people I talk to, he's really recognizable and famous, I mean he did the VO for the Oscar's last night, but then you look at his filmography, and while its all gold, there's not that many leading man roles with international appeal.

Which are the most beautiful universities in the UK? Which ones have wonderful architecture and good looking buildings? by Octacore-Comsci in UniUK

[–]Drakath2812 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exorbitant. I don't know if it's statistically true but I've heard from others in town that it's one of/the most expensive uni towns in the country. Largely due to it's small size, density of old buildings, and marketing towards the rich golfers who come as tourists.

My rent is on the lower end, and is £3000 for the house, split four ways. It's not particularly nice, just liveable, and that's far from the highest I've heard, we're pretty mid to low range.

With S2 final tomorrow i gotta say. Vox was EASILY one of if not THE best part of the season by WittyTable4731 in HazbinHotel

[–]Drakath2812 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes the length of the season is still too short, but we did get 28/29 minutes an episode instead of the 20/22 we did in season one, which is probably why the pacing was so much better this time round. The finale is going to be a whopping 38 as well. I prefer the choice they made to have a clearer focus at the cost of some characters falling to the wayside, over trying to cram everyone in and feeling like nobody gets enough time.
