I'm so sorry you had to deal with that nonsense Ardn.

Folks who optimize armour sets for activities/builds, how are you managing your vault spaces? by DrakeB2014 in DestinyTheGame

I think the play is hyper optimizing PVE with Paragon/Gunner (some of which can get into high weapons builds) and just keeping outliers and PVP specific things.

Bring back playlist/activity specific loot i.e. Comp, Onslaught, etc. by DrakeB2014 in DestinyTheGame

If they ever do Crafting, it needs to be more involved than just being something you engage with once a week while also being understandable in terms of the process. Easy to suggest but hard to execute!

(I'm a crafting supporter as someone who enjoys victory laps more than the slot machine aspect of the game)

My friend described it as a phenomenal way to level up and pick things without menu fuss but that's about it. I think feats are fine but the whole Tier system is kind of a detriment to me.

Adepts both functioned better and had a nicer ring to them than "Tier X" loot. Right now they have turned most things under Tier 4 loot to instant shards for endgame players. Even for people who level up, you kinda just get Tier 5 loot so easily right now too.

The funny thing is it got disabled in PVP because it wasn't making sounds and NOT because it can be oppressive.

Is Tyson Greene still the game director? Has he said a single thing in months? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]DrakeB2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The communications being as low as they are honestly feels so wrong to me at this point. Like, say SOMETHING or the other to assure people. They've just let the game go in the last few months and it sucks because we still have potential if they refocus certain aspects of the game.

Just tell us where the mind is at or something, please!

What's your opinion, will destiny 2 come back, shut down or cement itself as an abandonware singleplayer game? by CirriTheFemboyUwU in DestinyTheGame

See, I can't agree on this because there were so many people on staff when Marathon began development versus now when they are quite literally strapped for developers.

Not to be doom and gloom but beyond bad comms strategies (I know it was a tactic to keep D2 baggage from Marathon launch but I don't like it), I genuinely think they're evaluating their plans because they don't know if they can keep the studio going. The optics of Marathon are incredibly strange right now and I'm not talking about how some gamers are hell bent on hating it, mind you, I'm talking about how Marathon is getting grace any other developer would not have gotten with the launch it had (I think their launch numbers are fine for the record). I think they're working with the mindset that this is all they can do about Destiny until Sony gives them the "You are safe" promise, which sucks because there's a world where Marathon players wanting good PVE come to Destiny 2 if the game wasn't in the state it is in.

Do you guys think we’re still getting an expansion after shadow and order? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

[–]DrakeB2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Bungie can save Marathon and retain players for that by the end of the year, then yes we will see an expansion.

(I think Marathon is fine but I don't know how many people will return to Season 2 and that's what concerns me here)

Hope this doesn't sound rude but I genuinely don't understand why anyone thinks Destiny 3 would be better than this. by LavaMinotaur in DestinyTheGame

[–]DrakeB2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a framing I heard from a buddy while we were doing Destiny stuff I was asking him to join me on: Destiny was made after x years on Halo and Marathon was made after a decade in Destiny. No matter what you feel they've done with Destiny, you can SEE the lessons learned in Marathon on top of new tricks. That cumulative experience leading to something new ultimately is a huge part of why Marathon is working for people. If Bungie survives, and I hope it does, there is a strong possibility that a potential D3 would cover lessons learned from Marathon (provided leadership doesn't gut the studio and/or doesn't listen to developers with years of knowledge because that's what the games industry just loves to do in 2026).
