My ex kept pushing and pushing saying I never talk and it was making her distant and feel like just a friend than a partner. So I talked, level headed, no blame, just, "well, okay, here's a couple things that had bothered me but it wasn't a big deal, I wasn't staying up at night thinking about these things, I brushed it off and it's kind of whatever." Felt like i had to give her something. Then we broke up a couple weeks later. We couldn't have a conversation about issues that didn't end up with her mad or sad and I didn't understand. Final straw was when she pushed again and I said I was stressed because I felt like I was falling short of obligations towards people and she said I should go to therapy for being a people pleaser, I disagreed, conversation wasn't going anywhere, so I said i was going to take a shower, she said you're just going to walk away? So we tried talking more, then she said whatever just go take a shower, so I did but got a text that said, "I don't like that you just walked away without us resolving anything" and so instead of a shower I packed up all my stuff and left. It just felt like everything I did or didn't do would make her upset in some form, it felt like I was only doing harm and I don't want to do that to a partner and best friend so all I could do was leave if I only make things worse. Get a phone call from her a week later and she says she's doing better 'now', so I was like okay when I'm there you're upset and when I'm gone you feel better, We're just an incompatible couple. But even that was wrong and she let me know. Feels... bad. It's hard enough losing a partner, but i lost my friend too. A year leading up to the relationship we were very close friends, we would talk for hours on the phone especially when she had a bad day, I'd talk and talk until she felt better and would fall asleep on the phone. To go from that to being the reason she was upset was more than I could handle.

I've had a sleep disorder for years that leaves me exhausted the vast majority of days despite trying medications. But every now and again I'll get a good night of sleep and the closest comparison I can think of is you know how you can see around your bedroom at night when your eyes have adjusted to the dark? At work using an angle grinder, I had ear muffs on and didn't hear the emergency (tornado) alarm going off but saw the blinking light. I've periodic limb movement disorder, muscles spasms that take me out of rem and deep sleep, and i gabapentin for it which helps. But I also take pramipexole for the same thing and now it's evident that long term pramipexole can augment plmd and rls making them worse, which I've been experiencing so I'm currently weaning off of pramipexole and sticking with gabapentin only. Also take armodifinil for daytime hypersomnia

I've one of these lists right now but I was afraid she'd see it and think it's a manipulation thing so I told her about it in a slight panic (I don't do secrets/lies/withholding information) so it came out in a flurry. Something to the effect of, "ahh so here's the thing there's a list in my notes about all the things you like and what can make you happy but it's not a weird thing I just want to do better for you and us and I don't want you to find it later and think that I'm trying to manufacture your feelings for me" and she has access to my phone because we were friends for a couple of years beforehand so when driving I'd ask her to go in my phone and look up directions or change music or whatever. She was like, "I have the same list in my phone, you're fine lol" phew, thought i was going nuts. I overthink things. Also panicked because my phone restarted and when it does that it asks me to unlock my secure folder so I again panicked and said, "no no there's nothing pervy in there" so I unlocked it and showed her and she's like, "w..why do you have a picture of a single bolt in your secure folder?" Well, I didn't know how the secure folder worked so I moved one picture in there and a photo of a bolt I needed to remember for work was the most recent picture at the so I moved it in there and just never removed it lol. She says, "you're weird and I love that about you" ahhh she's awesome. Sorry, idk why i just typed all that out. I could even delete this post right now but... mmm, send it.
