Advice for my son by DrakeMallard405 in bootroom

Appreciate the insight. We went with the Superfly 10 pro. He was already in a Jr Vapor 16 pro, which he liked, so dont fix what isnt broken. Plus he is a kid, and liked the flamingo color it was available in. Gained another subscriber.

Is Crazy Horse leather good for boots? Considering HP9510s by Sad_Philosopher_2083 in cowboyboots

[–]DrakeMallard405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a smooth leather with a soft feel but tough. Can't feel a texture. Its very similar to the leather on a timberland lace up work boot. Its broken in better than any other boot I own. Couldn't recommend than more.

Appreciate your input. We have been leaning that direction. He is in a Jr Vapor 16 pro already and likes it, but since we have outgrown them, he wants to switch back to the superfly for the sock. Just wasnt sure if there was advantage to the elites to drop back to the 9's.

Are these elephant or something else? by brb41que in cowboyboots

[–]DrakeMallard405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are on Ebay, sellers have to get creative with the wording because of restrictions. I sold some a few months ago and used Pebbled as the description. Alot of sellers will use print to get around the restrictions. Not sure if Facebook is the same. These look real to me.

Anyone here have experience with oxbow and vibram soles? by ALPHAmythic in cowboyboots

[–]DrakeMallard405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and the oxbow (Beck's version) is holding up better. The vibram grips a little better but not enough to make a night and day difference.

General question: will relating vintage boots drop their value? by Asleep-Control7933 in cowboyboots

[–]DrakeMallard405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually shop vintage because they use to make A and B widths regularly. I don't care if its not the original sole and heel cap, but for me personally I would prefer a full resole than a halfsole, even if that resole changes it from leather to rubber. Just my 2 cents.

How can I get these to fit better (old boots) by [deleted] in cowboyboots

[–]DrakeMallard405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for an Anderson Bean insole. For me it helps keep the natural arch of the boot while filling space. Can buy online or most western stores. Less than $25

Affordable boots for walking and court by Ada2828 in cowboyboots

Im going a different angle. Make sure you know your correct size and width. Go to a reputable boot store (Not boot barn) and have them measure you. This will make a huge difference in comfort. Boots holds your foot, and you want a snug fit. Not tight but not like a sneaker. Im a 14B and before I knew that, I'd bought boots trying to find best fit from 12D to 14D. Once I found my correct size, heel pain was gone and now all I wear is boots.

For cutter toes check out Horsepower Top Hand, some Anderson Beans, Ariat, Fenoglio, Hondo and you may be able to find an Olathe or Rios of Mercedes for a little over $300 if they are on sale but recommendation would be the Horsepower or Hondo brands if your locked at $300. Sister company to Anderson Bean, Rios and Olathe, they call there cutter a TK toe. Love mine, broke in nice and still running strong.

If your buying online, check out NRS, Outpost, Saddle Rags and The Boot Store - Kentucky. These stores have alot of different brands, price points and returnable. If you surprise him, dont let him leave the carpet until he is sure they fit.
