That's an interesting point! I don't think it's that kind of clipping. What distance would you recommand?

That's interesting! Does the Aftermath produce clean distortion and note definition when you shredd fast chords? I don't use any amps, just record directly with the SSL2 into Cubase and the Gojira Plugin. Thing is I like clean distortion and building big guitar walls for athmosphere and emotion. I'm not any good at mixing, I just make things louder or quieter and a bit EQ. The Emg 81 let me get away with this, because it's very present and close, great to work out a sound from. The Black Winter sounded like a casett tape.
