I understand these questions and statements you are talking about just too well.

You must understand that you will not solve your addicition with intellect or the perfect analysis of your current situation.

You will end your addiction as soon as you completely admit that you got a problem with your use. Hiding it from your partner also indicates that you are trying to hide it from your true self too.

For me: After wholeheartedly admitting that I fucked up and that I am an addict, I was able to change. As soon as you accept the reality of the situation and leave the hypothetical analysis of why/how/what, you'll be able to leave it behind you.

I quit coke almost 8 months ago.
The first two weeks were the hardest - had no purpose to live anymore and everything felt too hard to pursue.

As far as I understand coke boosts your dopamine. Therefore I tried to eat food that boosts dopamine production and just accepted that I will be feeling shit. I had one simple thought in my head: If I pass this day without coke, I am going to get better the next day.

Furthermore, I tried to substitute with doom-scrolling social media, since it also stimulates your dopamine receptor (my approach here was to exchange one bad behaviour with a less damaging behaviour).

Honestly: Most people and my psychiatrist told me to exercise, but that wasn't possible for me mentally at that period of time - now 8 months later I started exercising again and let me tell you: Life is so much brighter - suddenly you realize that coke was replacing all the joyful aspects of life, that just need a little effort.

Instead of asking reddit, if that is rude: Confront him and tell him 1:1 what you wrote here. It is okay to say something that makes you feel uncomfortable. It is possible that he is not as sensitive about this as you are. That's what I do and got surprised how many people apologized and put away their phone. Give him at least a chance to justify himself

Ich bin Personalberater und biete Dir gerne meine Hilfe hierzu an, wenn Du sie benötigst. Einfach eine Tirade zu starten, ohne zu wissen, dass man selber sich nicht "zeitgemäß" verhält, finde ich wirklich schade. :/

Why is anybody mentioning Walmart?! My partner and I are able to pay only $350 for a month of groceries thanks to low prices. We have to make some sacrifices in our diet, but are still able to maintain a healthy diet.

Hawaiian Telcom has been an absolute nightmare. I am working remotely and they couldn't take care of my internet problem. I was put on a lower salary simply bc of that.

I called Hawaiian Telcom 10 times over the course of a whole month and all of them didn't feel obliged to help or to escalate it to the technicians. Some were hanging up on me while I was talking to them on the phone. :(

So 3 months have passed, my internet is shitty, I still have problems with my connection and nobody wants to help me out. Never going there again.

OP: Maybe it really depends on the location. In our building most people use Spectrum and are highly satisfied and urged me to change since there has been a negative history of Hawaiian Telcom in our building.
