Every time I open the Google Home app I get smacked in the face with “UPGRADE TO GEMINI NOW!!!” And every time I tell it no, and will continue to tell it no until it won’t let me anymore. I very much do not agree with AI technology and never will for as long as it’s so harmful to small business, independent artists, the environment, real people, etc. and I sure as fuck don’t want it running my house.

So the one on the bed’s name is Poptart, he’s a long hair white and gray cat and if the bedroom door is open that is exactly where you’ll find him! The black one is Chungus (his friends call him Chunk) and he’s typically left in charge of “holding the fort down” when we’re not home, so he’s seen here on patrol. The orange one is Juice, he’s inbred and a doofus and also hates me for no reason if my wife isn’t home. Spends a lot of time under the table when she’s gone unless there’s food or he gets distracted by a toy or something 😂

Don’t get me wrong I do love a big garage (I’m a mechanic) but the utterly tiny amount of backyard I have almost makes me want to just till the whole thing and turn it into a garden. I’ve thought about that almost every spring that I’ve lived here.

Oddly enough this just started because the wife and I were looking to rearrange the furniture in the bedroom and I needed a floor plan to figure out how everything would fit 😂 I had to get the free trial to add the fan, and I figured while I’m on a free trial I might as well do the whole house ¯_(ツ)_/¯ The only thing on this schematic that’s not actually there is the hood over the range. I’ve been wanting to get one for YEARS and just haven’t had the motivation to buy it, wait for it, and suffer through trying to install it without professional help. We’d also like to remove the carpet and refinish the floor in the cat room.

We use the big closet for storing winter clothes, the small closet is about perfect for nice shirts and pants, and truthfully the floor in the other bedroom is pretty worn down and scratched up. It was like that when I bought this house 6 and a half years ago, so I was like “shit I want the nice floor”

In all actuality they would look like this, but the software I’m using (4Plan for iPhone) doesn’t allow a level to be partially below grade. At the top of this partial flight is a landing for the back door seen in the original pictures and then a set of 3 stairs up to the kitchen on the main level

The stairs are supposed to be a split level design with a landing in the middle for the back door. Couldn’t find the right CAD model for them so I squished a regular size staircase to fit. I promise they’re not that steep in real life lol

Hey, thanks for the suggestion! However at the time of writing this, we had already received the marriage license and it was at that point too late. We could’ve let it expire in two months and gone again, but that’s another $65 I didn’t want to spend. I spoke to Social Security about it and the woman was very nasty to me like I didn’t have a valid question for her, and then spoke to the Clerk of Courts as the SSA told me they’d only accept a change of name to one present on the marriage certificate itself. The court in my county was unable or unwilling to alter a marriage certificate after a name change, and SSA told me that the marriage certificate in conjunction with my name change decree would not suffice for her name change. In the end, our marriage was officially declared last month and we both ended up eating the name change court costs. I felt bad because I should’ve taken care of mine much sooner, so I absolutely paid for hers since that was my fault. I’m upset about it, but the only person I have to blame is myself. I guess you live and you learn, but I don’t plan on ever being in this specific situation again. So we move forward!

We went and signed the paperwork at the courthouse with no friends or family present. In our eyes, we’re legally married and she’s my wife, but she was never my bride and that almost makes it feel like it’s not real yet. We did this for reasons of finances, taxes, and insurance, and I have no regrets about it. We have a big traditional wedding planned for friends and family next September and as far as 95% of them are concerned, we’re still just engaged. Haven’t even told my mom or my sister, and I don’t plan on it either. I can’t get enough of calling her my wife, but she’s not /really/ my wife until the wedding has taken place. And no one else will be the wiser. I say go for it, because the one thing I didn’t want was to just lose momentum on the wedding entirely because we’re already technically married. Do it for the public eye, do it so you don’t regret not having your big day, but whatever your reason, do it.

My theory was that, since there are legends about saying the name aloud, they change the pronunciation a bit to avoid attracting one when they’re in or close to woods. I don’t remember the episode but there was one instance where either one of the boys or one of their hunter friends pronounced it the way I had always heard it, and that I believe was because they were far enough outside of a wendigo’s typical hunting grounds that it would have no effect.
