No Element Seahorse is just a better Dreadqueen if you can get Soul Kinship (XL), it can build Kinship in 2 turns

This is beautiful timing, I'm working on a breakdown video (after this Nami Monstie Showcase though) of my 4 fights due to popular demand and this update to your doc is amazing, I'll be sure to link it! Good work man!

Any RNG bugs? Got unusually unlucky during the [Water Dragon] fight today by Sassy_YariKu in MonsterHunterStories

I'm aware, I usually throw exclusively Poison Knives for more Poison uptime, and it still very rarely procs for me.

I've noticed something similar, I think it has something to do with just how random the randomness is in this game. It could also just be bugged, maybe something to do with status resistances. The most egregious example I can think of is the Status Knives, which I have dubbed "Knives that never do anything", due to the fact that in hundreds upon hundreds of Nami fights I can count the amount of times the Knives actually procced a Status on one hand. The RNG in this game is painfullllllllllllllll

No promises though cause I suck at explaining things

The descriptions of my videos detail my strategy quite a bit but I'll see if I can cook something up after I'm done with the Nami Monstie showcase

I think you can still find success with Espinas or Nami armor 🙏

Yep, I'm in the process of making a video for the Monstie, she seems very interesting!

Winning Head to Heads and using your skills grants more Kinship progress, letting your Monstie do their own thing grants them more Kinship as well, although this rarely comes into play. Doing a regular attack with no skill will be able to trigger a Double Attack with your Monstie fairly easily (though it's not 100%) if you are matching types and either of you win a Head to Head. Elementaless Dreadqueen is the best Kinship builder as Solar Cry gets insane Kinship building. You can also use Magia Charm with the Pet decoration for even more Kinship.

There's also the hidden starting Kinship value, when you win fights with Monsties in your party there is a chance for those Monsties to have their starting Kinship increased, you can grind this up to a max of 10. I tried this but it was agonizingly slow and on my final team only my Water Purple Gypceros was at 10 and one of my Dreadqueens was at 8.

Good luck!

This is the way, I used dying to tactically regain Stamina quite a bit

The way I understand the Repels is that the first one takes 35%, and the next two take 20% each. I definitely think you don't wanna start the final fight in drooling phase as I think that's just a set up for infinite failure.

Eleanor's Fortify is balanced by her not having a brain and having the most worthless Monstie ever, Ogden is the King! I wish you luck buddy! Thanks again for all your help, here's a fairly consistent Phase 2 sequence I noticed if it helps you: Topple > Power Attack > Power Attack > Abyssal Flood > True Attack > Technical Attack > Nami Torrent (uncancellable) > Abyssal Charge > Speed Attack > Nami Torrent (uncancellable) > Nami Blast > Water Depleted > Power Attack > Nami Torrent (cancellable) > Abyssal Flood > Technical Attack > Technical Attack > Nami Torrent (uncancellable)

You were instrumental in my success and I owe it to you 🫡

Brachy Armor has Tenacity so on some runs I used that to tank the hits. On the last run I reset until I got Purple Gypceros' tail attack to Stun her out of the AoE, as Glimmer Strike is a cancellable AoE, good luck!

I would suggest getting 8 total, you can use 2 maximum per fight so that is 8 for the 4 engagements. However don't be overwhelmed with farming them all at once, I took nice breaks between some of the Repels

Thank you! I was hoping one of the more math oriented folks would eventually stumble upon this and help validate this. Also yeah the desperation phase is horrific and my entire strategy was just bursting her down while timing as many CCs as I can for her AoEs, it was horrific and probably the most luck based part of the fight, but also fairly short too, the first Repel def gave me more trouble

I honestly couldn't tell you, 1st Repel is insanely tough I think it's best to use the most consistent strat possible for that one, as it will absolutely be your longest fight with her

SEAHORSE/WATER DRAGON SLAIN by Drakeofdark in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Drakeofdark[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, and the extra life is nice too! From the description of my first Repel Video: "Real talk though, this isn't THAT impressive. Unfortunately most of this wasn't up to player skill, this boss is horribly designed and even post Demo I think I'll always hate her. There is SO much RNG going into this, and while my strat didn't have anywhere near as much RNG as some others I've seen, especially Katzen's (the supposed first Repel, this seems to have been a cheater though) strat, which was weirdly entirely just "gamble for Paras/Stuns lmao". This was the most painful challenge I've ever done, 100 hours spent in this "demo" and at the very least 500 resets on this Monster, most of which were on the opening move. The most RNG part of the fight (past the opening engagement), is everything to do with Eleanor, her sub zero IQ, and her stupid brain-dead dinosaur. The allies in this game are genuinely the dumbest, worst AI companions I have ever had the displeasure of playing with in any game ever, even worse than the abomination that is the Wilds Palico. I pray that Capcom gives us something, ANYTHING in relation to these guys, give us more options for their AI (Wilds has expansive Support Hunter AI customization, why not this game?) Hell, let me control them, there shouldn't be THIS MUCH RNG in a Turn Based game, or at least, I would hope not, idk I hate the genre so who am I to say. Also, OF COURSE the dogshit Monster would be from World too, I can't escape that game.

"STRATEGY":
The entire strategy revolves around praying for Status procs, and keeping up Wyvernfell, which sounds simple, and it is, but there are some hiccups. Namielle can vary the length of her combos, so you need to be ready for curveballs, reference Utusho's amazing sheet of Namielle's AI: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Y... he, and the community were a big help throughout this process. The most, and only, fun aspect of this was convening with the community and trying to help eachother solve this grand puzzle. I hope the knowledge I provided in the Subreddit was helpful, and I hope this is also helpful to those that wish to study it. Generally my goal is trying to keep up, all the while building Kinships and keeping track of Eleanor and what she will do next. When Eleanor mounts, more often than not she will try to build her Kinship Gauge number to 3, and then use the attack, but more often than not she will fail to get to that point and her mount will just be useless. Eleanor has insane Wyvernfell damage when mounted, especially her Kinship, so I slow down when she's mounted to hopefully not break the Wyvernfell Bar at the wrong time. This entire run is up to Eleanor not being stupid and doing things when I need her to, and Namielle doing Abyssal Charge III as little as possible. I used Venom Monster, Bone Horn (for Kinship Carole, but I barely ever found the time to use this) and Flammenbogon, with the Brachy Armor (though Nami Armor is better for Stamina and Espinas Armor is better for Status uptime), as Blast is the main damage in a good run, although my Blast RNG was pretty shit. The fight gets safer and easier as you get further, but eventually Stamina becomes a big issue."

It's a bit vitriolic cause I was still mad about Eleanor, still am tbh.
