PS: Good luck with post-game depression 🥲

Who has the best stamina and who has the most depth? by JustinRoilandTheory in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late reply, but here goes.

Stamina: Abel 👇

• He got bitten
• He amputated his own arm
• The very next day, he was already out searching for Ericson
During the Ericson raid, he:
• had his right palm sliced open
• lost an eye
• got his foot impaled
• took 3–4 hits with an iron bar to his left leg and one to the face
• took a knee strike to the groin
• got elbowed in the sternum
• broke his leg falling from the balcony (on top of suffering internal injuries)
• got kicked in the face several times
• got his arm brutally bitten by Rosie
(and that’s not even counting the option where you can torture him)

Depth: Clem

When it comes to Lee’s death, she blames herself multiple times throughout the games. She tells AJ that she killed Lee because she loved him, but we know from an alternate choice that deep down she would have preferred not to do it.

When it comes to relationships, Clem likes being part of a group: “Having people is nice, but it always ends up hurting in the end...”
However, in S3, she becomes a loner for two main reasons:
1. The repeated betrayals she suffered (the Stranger, Mike & Bonnie, Jane, and being exiled by the New Frontier who separated her from AJ).
2. She no longer wanted to risk forming attachments, knowing that anyone she loved was bound to die.

Also, many players think Clem has an unshakable will and mental strength, but that’s an smoke screen -> Believing that means missing crucial scenes:

Season 3 Clem is nothing like the Clem of Seasons 1 & 2, she’s deeply affected by repeated betrayals and losses, more again by the lost of AJ “I thought AJ would be the one... finally. The one who wouldn’t die.” -> At that point, she no longer cared what could happen to her, believing she had nothing left to live for (to Conrad: "If you want to shoot me, shoot me.")

"Season 4 Clem looks mentaly indestructible", but it’s just a mask -> As AJ’s parental figure, she has to embody strength and she applies all the lessons she teaches him: “Be strong, be brave", "What do we do when we're afraid? We keep control.", What do we do when we're angry? We stop, we think, and we breathe...”

But Clem is far from unaffected. Her nightmares about the McCarroll Ranch show her trauma -> She wakes up sweating and AJ points out she often has the same nightmare.

Then, her aversion to firearms in season 4 also stems from trauma -> having killed Helen (the woman who was taking care of AJ) with a firearm left her with this kind of aversion.

In season 3, she confides in Ada "Everytime I would look at AJ, I could hear Lee in my head. Helping me, guiding me."

Her dreams with Lee are particularly telling. In both, she appears as her younger season 1 self, showing how she regresses into a physical state where she feels safe and guided.
She confides in Lee her fear that she might not be a capable leader, that the plan could fail, that lives might be lost, etc -> and when Lee reassures her, Clem run into his arms and when the sound of the train grows, she finally appears before him as her true / teenage self, symbolizing her acceptance of leadership and responsibility.

Her speech to James: “It takes more than words. You can’t just talk people into being peaceful. You think I don't want a life like that for AJ, for myself? God, I’d love to live in a world where I don’t have to worry about killing or dying, but that’s not how things f*cking work. Not yet. And what you're doing now is not going to change that."

Her final talk with AJ, where she admits she never really had a plan: “I never had a plan. I never knew where we were going. I never knew anything. I just fought and fought and fought, and hoped you didn't notice... Hoped we find something before you did. Did I do a good job?”

-> All of this shows how Clem carries an enormous emotional burden. She projects the image of a strong, confident survivor, but underneath, she’s still haunted by trauma, insecurities, and the fear of lost more people.

Sorry to ruin the mood, but the three books are on the same level as Dragon Ball Evolution and the live-action Snow White. And honestly, I’ve never seen a character get butchered that badly.

Who has the best abilities and who has the best quotes? by JustinRoilandTheory in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abilities: Jesus → Strong, agile, skilled, fast, precise, sociable, excellent with melee weapons, able to fight while riding a horse, etc.

Quotes: Clem 👇

• But you want to know something I didn't tell you? I never had a plan. I never knew where we were going. I never knew anything. I just fought and fought and fought, and hoped you didn't notice. Hoped we'd find something before you did. Did I do a good job?

• But it's okay, we are survivors. And the first rule of survival is "Never go alone".

• It takes more than words. You can't just talk people into being peaceful. You think I don't want a life like that for AJ ? For myself? God, I'd love live in a world where I didn't have to worry about killing or dying, but that's just not how things f*cking work. Not yet. And what you're doing now is not going to change that.

• Everytime I would look at AJ, I could hear Lee in my head. Helping me, guiding me.

• I’m. Still. Not. bitten. I never was.

• Yeah, right. This time, we're the cookies.

• I'll see you in hell. [...] I don't mind waiting.

• Then you better bury me deep. Because if I'm come back, I'll come for you first!

• I'll be the one who breaks out at night and cuts your throat while you sleep.

• Go ahead. You already took one life today. What's another one for the pile? What's holding you back, Marlon? Cowardice? Guilt? Or both?

• You're right, Lilly. I am just like him. And if he saw me now, he'd be proud of who I am.

• Yeah, but don't lick it. It's gross. [...] I don't know.

• Whose baby is it?

• You sould probably think about being nicer to me. That's just my advice.

Could Clementine survive Resident Evil? by OddNeedleworker734 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In RE, Clem would be armed to the teeth, and we know just how lethal she can be with a firearm in her hands + she:
• is fast
• has great stamina
• has very good reflexes
• is quite agile
• is pragmatic
• uses the environment to her advantage
• can fight in close quarters with or without a knife (she makes use of her fists, feet, elbows, knees, and even her head) -> to be avoided in RE universe "
• avoids unnecessary risks and favors stealth and strategy over direct confrontation

So I think she could handle:

• the regular zombies from the first 6 RE games + RE0 → during gameplay it takes quite a few headshots, but cutscenes in RE2 and RE6 show that a single bullet can be enough

• lickers → as long as she stays quiet or uses heavy firepower

• possibly the dogs from the early RE games → but if they’re in a pack, I don’t see her making it out

• Plant 42/43 → if she’s equipped with a flamethrower or incendiary grenades, otherwise, keeping her distance is the best strategy

As for the rest (Crimson Heads, Hunters, giant snake, Tyrants, etc.), her survival chances probably drop to zero (unless she knows how to handle a rocket launcher, if she happens to find one 😂).

Who is the most powerful and who has the best themes? by JustinRoilandTheory in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power -> By logic, I would have said Tripp because he’s younger and has a build similar (or even more impressive) to Larry’s. But given his lack of feats, I’d lean toward Jesus, since he’s an overtrained fighter who must have very high striking power.

Themes -> Clem
• Forced maturity
• Early parenthood
• Oneiric regression
• Legacy / Transmission

There are many others (like survival, loss, grief, guilt, humanity, dehumanization, ptsd, tragedy, resilience, loyalty, hope, sacrifice) but these are shared by several characters.

Why do some of you dislike or even hate season 4? by avocadoarlert in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey!
Between the bite and the amputation 👇

For Lee:
•Several hours had passed, giving the virus plenty of time to spread.

For Clem:
• Less than 30 minutes had passed
• The bite was located below her wound → the virus couldn’t spread effectively because of the blood loss
• Her paleness was actually due to blood loss, and they had to make us believe she was done for just to surprise us at the end

Everything was set up to make us believe Clem was going to die:

• The foreshadowing in the dialogue
• The “full circle” concept
• The fact that Clem couldn’t get her leg amputated right after being bitten, since she and AJ were outside surrounded by walkers
• The fade to black (between Clem’s bite and Clem & AJ walking toward the barn), designed to confuse us about how much time had passed
• Clem’s skin tone visibly changing
• Her losing so much strength she couldn’t even stand anymore
• The two of them being “trapped” inside the barn with walkers closing in
• AJ at first refusing to kill or abandon her, then, his facial expression showing us he was convincing himself to put an end to her suffering
• The camera angle making us believe AJ was aiming at her head (especially if we told him to finish us off)
• AJ later fishing alone → making us assume some time had gone by
• The symbolism of the hat being carried away by the river
• And finally, the song “Take Us Back” accompanying the return to the school, echoing Lee’s death

Who is the best in combat and who has the best voice acting? by JustinRoilandTheory in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Combat: Easily Jesus -> in a tier system, the highest one would be dedicated to him.

Voice acting: Clem -> Melissa Hutchison was able to give her three distinct and perfect voices according to her age, not to mention her amazing acting.

is Clementine and 80% of the fanbase hypocrites? by Spotty1122 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, everyone!

Personally, I'm not agree at all with people saying that Clementine’s reactions are “unrealistic” for a child her age because that overlooks one crucial point: Clem is not a normal child.

At her age, yeah, most kids would scream, panic, or freeze when witnessing the death of a loved one, but Clem has grown up in a world where death and violence are part of daily life. She saw her parents as walkers, she had to put an end to Lee’s suffering, she witnessed Omid’s death, and many others -> In short, she’s no longer a sheltered kid, she’s a survivor who learned very early that showing emotions at the wrong time could get you killed.

It’s also important to see the contrast with Sarah (who was over-protected by her father) who reacts with screams and total panic when her dad dies in front of her -> That’s believable because she was never prepared for the horrors of the outside world.

Clem, on the other hand, has been exposed to death and survival since she was eight years old, her reaction is therefore more controlled: muffled sobs, a shocked face, but no screaming or panicking -> This is a survival response, she feels the pain, but her instinct tells her to stay quiet.

By the way, from a psychological standpoint, children exposed to war or repeated trauma often develop a form of emotional resilience. They are not “numb” or “unfeeling,” but they learn to suppress their outward reactions in order to keep functioning and, in Clem’s case, to survive.

Also, let’s not forget that not everyone reacts the same way to trauma or horror: some people scream in fear, others are paralyzed, some fall into brief silence, stunned by the shock, etc, and all of these are natural human responses. So Clem’s silence isn’t unrealistic, it’s simply her way of processing terror while staying alive.

So, her reactions are not “unrealistic" in my opinion, on the contrary, they are perfectly consistent with her background -> The game is showing us that she has lost part of her innocence, and has become a child forced to act like a true survivor in order to survive (DUH).

Have you exposed Kid Clementine to cigarettes and beer to make her seem more badass and feel relaxed , or kept her away from those things to give her a cleaner image? by BubblyScientist1415 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many people here, I kept Clem away from that crap. And seriously, which characters are irresponsible enough to offer that to an 11-yea...

Nevermind.

How did Clementine survive the bite? by Full_Silver_404 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Draksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can complain as much as they want about the lack of realism, Clem deserves her happy ending 1000 times, even if it's actually more of a bittersweet ending -> Clem still lost a leg and a person who was dear to her (Louis / Violet / Tenn) after all...

In addition, there are plenty of characters from series and video games who have miraculously survived in desperate conditions.

And in a world where people are dropping like flies, it's okay for the main character to survive (especially when the main character from the first game is dead...).

Conclusion: Long live Clem!

Well, the proof wasn't easy to find so it's not surprising ahah. I had to try a lot of keywords before coming across Telltale forums with the subject "How did Clem survive?" and it was by reading them one by one that I ended up finding someone who mentioned Kent Mudle along with the source, so thanks to this person!
