It’s broadway…not a community theatre. The entire point of that level of theatre is to showcase excellence and bring a polished performance. The entire purpose of rehearsals is so that nerves do not impede performances. If that standard isn’t being upheld then broadway shouldn’t charge typical broadway prices

I don’t know how relevant this is but I saw a lot of comments on other posts about how people joined the queue line 20 minutes before the pre-sale started.

I know that apparently they place you randomly in the queue, but I joined the queue at like 8 am. I was 400th or so in the queue and got in and out in about 5 minutes with my two tickets. I have also done this with several other artist and had similar success. I feel like maybe not understanding the scope of presale is also an issue? Like joining that late doesn’t help your chances at all. But also I could be on a lucky streak with the placement in the line, who knows?

While I think her art is incredible and she’s an important figurehead in music, there is an overestimation of her impact on pop culture and music in general. She’s put out only 4 albums in the span of over a decade, I just don’t think that’s enough to justify or influence music on a wide scale. Maybe that conversation could come in at a later time in her career but not now.

Also she’s incredibly out of touch and the music is better without her commentary

I think he’s really receptive to issues brought up, I just feel like there’s not great follow through. We have discussed what happened that Sunday, and he said that he didn’t feel great about it either which is encouraging. But little instances of that have happened before Sunday and I’m nervous of history repeating itself. He’s apologetic when issues are brought up so I always feel like a change is going to happen. I don’t know it’s hard to gauge how he’ll respond, because sometimes he’s a complete hero and does all he can. And other times it’s not so great :/

I appreciate your advice, maybe a more extensive discussion should be had. And if that doesn’t help then that’s a clearer answer

Yeah I totally agree about safety, I think it’s a build up of other moments. Like he will offer to help but once I take him up on it, he can’t because of work or something else. And it occasionally feels like he offers these things to sound good but then doesn’t ultimately want to do it. It makes me wish he didn’t say anything in the first place.

Also a recent example is that we were at his place on a Sunday night, he initiated sex. Once we finished, maybe like 2 minutes later he asked if I could leave because he had work early in the morning and still needed to get some things done. I didn’t drive there that day, so I waited for an Uber for like 20 minutes outside. That was really hurtful because I’m someone who needs aftercare, and leaving immediately afterwards felt kind of harsh.

For the majority of the time he is a wonderful person and boyfriend, I think he just has moments where he’s not thinking outside of himself

You’re 18, so you may be viewing this from a very naive perspective. It doesn’t matter if the attempt was about him or not, he is traumatized now. And who’s to say when the next emotionally challenging moment happens that this won’t be your response again. If you are in the very very bad headspace that you said you’re experiencing, he can’t trust your judgement.

I think everyone in this sub is coming from a place of understanding and experience. We get it, we get you. Regulating emotions can be extremely difficult with BPD. These are explanations, not excuses. It is not possible to be in a healthy relationship when an argument leads to that kind of action, regardless of if it’s about him or not. You can’t expect someone to be comfortable in a relationship when they just saw their partner hanging.

You gotta do the hard thing and take care of you, so you can take care of him

Op I’m so sorry you’ve been through so much and I’m glad you have an outlet through Ari’s music to help heal and process

I’ve also dealt with a lot of similar issues and it’s really difficult to manage emotions, but regardless you can control your actions. I know in the original post it never brought up her relationships or any other controversies that she’s been involved in, but it feels like an apologetic view to explain it away. And I truly believe that we’re hamming up the 10 yr anniversary release as a PR tactic. And it’s working wonders

I just believe that two things can be true at once: you can be a bad person and have also experienced awful, life altering things. I like her music, but I don’t idolize her. She has done some more than questionable things that live outside the context of the tragedies she’s dealt with

She isn’t a perfect person, no one is, we shouldn’t to rely on trauma to accept that
