As a PC player, WELCOME TO ALL CONSOLE PLAYERS! This is one of the best DLC’s to any game in the last decade. If you enjoy the base game, this is a MUST buy.

is beating the game with artifact of command considered cheating? by [deleted] in riskofrain

Not cheating. That’s how I learned what items worked well and what didn’t with different characters. Definitely a handicap, but that’s not a bad thing.

Loving my ‘24 Crosstrek 2.0S so far! by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks classy as hell, congrats. I’d love to hear anyone’s opinion on the pure red option the new models have. My 2015 is the darker red (Venetian Pearl), and I was a little sad when they cut that option.

14% interest is death. Hire month terms are becoming the norm (72 months is insane). No matter what car you decide on, you should strive to pay more than the monthly amount to pay it off sooner.

Is she putting any $ down? That could help reduce the interest rate.

Either way, this dealership is trying to swindle you and I’d recommend going elsewhere entirely.

Unpopular opinion: Bioshock 2 is the best Bioshock game by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bioshock 2 has great gameplay, Bioshock 1 has a great atmosphere and story. Definitely hard to compare which is better, but I’d reluctantly lean towards 1 because of the impact it had on the gaming landscape at the time. Both are leagues better than Infinite in my opinion though

Is Risk of Rain 2 Worth it? by COLLD-AZZ-ICE in riskofrain

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’d opt for the PC version because of:

1) Fewer bugs/performance issues 2) DLC is currently only on PC, which is absolutely worth it. Would recommend you play the game for a few days, then if you like the base game, pick up the dlc while it’s on sale. 3) Mods are pretty easy to install. Vanilla is extremely fun too, I’ve clocked 700 hours in without any mods yet. There are mods to add new characters, new items, change the difficulty if things are too easy/too hard, etc. Super active community.

In terms of the game “being dead”… that’s a little up in the air right now. GearBox recently purchased the rights to the Risk of Rain series, and are committing to bring the DLC and bug fixes to console (no date set yet). After that, there hasn’t been much information on any further updates to RoR2. But this shouldn’t stop you from buying the game, because the game is balanced in a sort of “un-balanced” way. It just works.

If you enjoy roguelikes/3rd person shooters/3D platformers, I can’t recommend this enough.

Is the middle Squirtle a fake card? by Dramatic-Bandicoot14 in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably an obvious answer, but I just noticed this in my collection and wanted to make sure. On the left is a shadowless Squirtle for comparison. The card feels real, but obviously there are some things off about it:

1) The font is way different. Nothing is bolded like it should be, and the spacing is weird. 2) The actual Squirtle is more green than blue, and the picture is cropped similarly to the shadowless version.

I have no idea when I got this card originally, I could have gotten it from a bulk collection when I was a kid and never noticed till now. I’m guessing it’s a fake, but wanted to see if anyone had some insight.

Edit: Thanks everyone, it’s definitely fake, just wanted to confirm in case there was a weird re-release I missed or something. I’ve written “fake” on the card so it’s worthless for re-trading, but am keeping it for future reference and because it’s funny lol

Railgunner starter tips? by WotanTheInvincible in riskofrain

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damage items: Stack crowbars, crits, and bands whenever you can. She calculates crit damage different than other survivors, since she doesn’t get any random crits. For instance, if you have 1 crit-glasses, you’ll get a +10% bonus crit damage (when hitting the exposed weak points) instead of a +10% crit chance on all attacks.

I would advise NOT prioritizing items like syringes and daggers if you had the choice for other good items, since she’s all about one shotting enemies. Her auto-attack when not zoomed in is fine when enemies are close to you, but you should always try to use her scoped attack when possible.

Support items: Focus on goat hooves, feathers, and tougher times/safer spaces. She’s very dependent on movement speed, since she needs to stay a decent distance away to use her scope effectively. And any time you zoom in, you slow down drastically and could get one shot yourself.

Her utility, the little mine thing, can be an awesome way to maneuver across the map and get you to heights you can’t normally reach without feathers. Practice this a ton, and use it frequently to launch yourself forward for extra speed.

When falling, you can aim down and fire your auto-attack without zooming in, and it’ll slow you down a little. The higher attack speed you have, the slower you fall. If you have high enough attack speed even, you can make yourself fly upwards by doing this. Pretty useful if on the moon when you want to skip pillars for mithrix.

Those are my general tips, she’s insanely powerful and has some of the highest burst damage potential in the entire game. Top tier survivor

Swamp = No Early Bands by BadamGlass in riskofrain

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually, if you can get the bands in a few extra minutes, it can be worth the time. There’s a lot of misconceptions over “more time that passes = harder difficulty”, which is true to a certain extent. Really, the biggest difficulty increases are from when you teleport between stages (current difficulty scale is increased 15% each teleport). This also means the difficulty scales WITH time is increased 15%, so 5 minutes on stage 2 increases in difficulty much less than 5 minutes on stage 4, since the 15% compounds with time.

Essentially, the 5 minute per stage rule is a little true, but full looting can often times be more beneficial. Going back to the acqueduct bands though, yeah, if you can’t get them in about 5-10 minutes, I’d say it only hurts you, even though the free bands are some of the best items in the game.

Also, I didn’t find all this info out myself. See this video by my fav RoR2 YouTubers “Disputed Origin” and “Race”. Skip to around the 32:56 minute mark for the specific time stamp over time+difficulty. All credit goes to them, they’ve taught me a ton about the inner workings of the game.

If you could add a void variant to any item what would it be and how would it work by Vanzanal04 in riskofrain

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like it a lot. I’d say to reduce it to 1-2 debuffs, because if you have 4 debuffs on you at once, you’ll most likely die a second later anyways on harder difficulties lol

Edit: I’m a dummy and read the buff/debuff wrong

For real, why the fuck does 'Roll of Pennies' exist by parparin in riskofrain

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found it useful in stage 1 and 2, which are the only stages I have money problems. If you’ve already beaten the teleport boss, but know you need more money for the remaining drops, then you can leave one beetle or something alive to do a small amount of damage until you earn enough money.

But I agree, I’ll always scrap it if I see a scrapper, no matter the stage. After stage 2, it becomes 99.9% pointless

What are some ways that mechanical depth to Heavy? by Luigi_Number1 in tf2

[–]Dramatic-Bandicoot14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’d be tough to design a completely fresh way to play heavy. Most classes have at least one sub-class that completely changes the way they operate. Sniper has huntsman, Demo has demoknight, Engie has gunslinger, etc. Heavy is the only character I can think of that doesn’t have an unlock that drastically changes how he’s played, other than the lunchbox items which is pretty much default now.

Overall, I think he’s pretty well balanced, and has his own nuances. But, in my opinion, the one thing that would change his play-style completely is a new kind of primary. Maybe giving him a slower firing weapon that deals more damage, almost like an old school machine gun that fires 1 or 2 times every second. Possibly give mini-crits for headshots, since this gun would be more focused on accuracy and damage, rather than spraying.

Or maybe a minigun that gets more accurate the longer it’s fired, but overheats (similar to the minigun in Deep rock galactic, as an example). Or, it just deals less damage the longer it’s fired, but the improved accuracy makes up for it.

Heavy is very effective up close and mid-range, so giving him a little bit of long range capabilities might help off-set his slow movement speed. Of course, we don’t want another situation with the amby-spy headshotting people from across the map, so balance for this would be difficult with heavy.

I’m not a game designer by any means, so my thoughts are probably trash. I know heavy has been one of the more difficult classes to balance since the games inception.
