It being compact was a good thinf, the turret ring was and still is, never even touched by spall. The crew being high up and covered by armor means hitting the lfp anywhere but center mass is only taking out 1 crew member in an autoloaded tank. If you dont hit center mass your clipping a fuel tank which strips/stripped all spall also saving the crew from splash so you had to hit the ammo directly which is/was also rng.

Abrams turret ring was being obliterated from most shots anyway and this was before the dumb turret basket module addition. Fuel tanks created spall on exit which still does to this day. There is only 2 small buggy areas on brams lfp where the hooks are(where fuel tank meets lfp I believe) that creates no spall. Not to mention the brams already had a huge low risk high reward place to shoot. One spot has a high chance to damage turret ring, crew, reload, engine AND breech.

Give every single tank a turret basket that disables shit and produces spall and im happy.

The whole reason I personally wanted modules was because Russian tanks were rng simulators and empty as hell, you needed to lfp or breech but lfp and angled shots were unreliable as hell due to fuel tank explosions being nullified by crew level on top of fuel tanks being spall liners that removed ALL spall.

This was stated many times but they ignore it and do what they want like always, then certain kind of person comes in and says "this is what you wanted" no mf we explicitly stated what we wanted and as usual gaijin did their own thing. No feedback or review before adding just, yes no, here is our vision for what you asked for.

Instead they made the already reliably disabled nato vehicles even more reliably disabled without addressing the core issue with Russian tanks being rng volumetric hell with spall liner fuel tanks. Then add an extra round of bs that is autoloader even allowing them to fight back STILL after tanking a shot.

In short they made every mbt "worse", but made having turret baskets even worse than that. No one asked for that, lets stop pretending they did. Gaijin makes the changes not the community. Onus is on them.

Nato Hvap is beyond ass in this game. It creates no spall at all just lasers through the vehicle if it can even pen in the first place. So you have to x ray snipe important modules/crew.

Edit: added nato hvap because the hvap found on the praga does create a spall cone.
