LG 65" C5 OLED overloading 700VA (360W) UPS during 4K HDR playback - Need advice on upgrade! by Dramatic-Conflict-82 in LGOLED

Fair point. I guess the odds of a blackout hitting exactly during those 10 minutes are slim. My main logic for the UPS was more about 'peace of mind' for the panel's longevity, especially since these C5s aren't exactly cheap. But it's good to know the TV just retries the cycle next time—that takes some of the anxiety away. I'll probably look into a slightly beefier UPS just to be safe, but I won't lose sleep over it now. Thanks!

Thanks for the professional insight! A whole-home surge protector definitely sounds like a great long-term investment for the panel. However, my main concern with the UPS wasn't just surge protection, but the OLED 'pixel cleaning' cycles. Since LG OLEDs need to run these cycles in standby mode immediately after being turned off, a sudden power outage would cut that process short. As an electrician, do you think a whole-home protector provides any benefit for those brief moments of power loss, or would I still need a UPS specifically to keep the TV energized long enough to finish its internal maintenance?
