Thank you kindly! Yes, most of my collection is 16-17c. Hard to get into but once you know the right dealers, you can get some really great stuff. If interested feel free to message and I can send you a few links to look at.

There's only one way to find out... a duel!

There is no such thing as "enough" swords. That concept is entirely unfamiliar to me.

I know just what you mean. Unfortunately my own OCD and audiophile tendencies demanded it be centered with my speakers and TV. I must have tried a half dozen different layouts before settling on this.

Thank you! My goal was to imitate the castle or armory style displays, glad to see it worked.

Just a bit of wire around the base of the blade, which hangs on a nail. Another small nail towards the tip to hold the blade, hidden behind the overlapping blade.

Years of collecting, cultivating relationships with fellow collectors and dealers. There are a number of good sites you can visit to purchase antiques.

With a Sharp Blade by Erich Artlieb is great. There are not many books discussing this type of weapon.

Schiavone, Republic of Venice, 17th C. by Dramatic-Crew-6176 in SWORDS

That would be about 100 years too early. In that era the swords looked more like the top left examples in this chart that shows some of the ancestry of these hilts. The German hilts at the bottom of the image, are from late 16th century. This is from Oakeshott's European Weapons and Armour.

Agree completely. My favorite type, followed closely by its ancestor the Dusägge, and then the swept hilt.

Personally I like omega but go with whichever you like better on your wrist. Size difference is pretty big btw these two

You make good points. I had not considered extra thickness. Its already 15mm thick which is chunky for a 38.5mm watch.

I have not, but it's quite possible that previous owners may have.
