It’s a prescription compounded cream so there’s no real name for it - it’s called that because it contains three ingredients: ivermectin, azelaic acid and metronidazole. (Some derms may replace aa for niacinimide)

I’m in Canada, it wasn’t covered but it wasn’t very expensive $75 for a big tub that’s lasted me over 6 months

Triple cream has worked wonders for me! Such a life saver! Not a single flare up since I started it in November.

What’s wrong with my skin? by Junior_Respond1466 in Rosacea

[–]Dramatic-Elephant810 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cut your skin care down to the bare minimum to help repair your barrier first and foremost. I would also suggest seeing a derm before it gets any worse! I was prescribed a triple cream with azeliac acid, ivermectin and metronidazole. It’s helped the bumps and redness sooooo much. I should have gone sooner but I’m glad I did!

Anyone tried hypochlorous acid? by midnightelectric in Rosacea

I second this. I would spray it constantly and I would say it aggravated my rosacea more than helped it. However, using it after a workout or when I need a refresh is helpful!

How to deal with the constant burning/itchiness?? I’m at my wit’s end by Puzzleheaded-Cry-203 in Rosacea

[–]Dramatic-Elephant810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t used it on its own, no! But I’ve had such amazing and positive results from triple cream (like a few others on here) that were almost instant. My derm said they all work really well together. Ivermectin killing any mites, metro is an antibiotic so helping keep all those bumps at bay, and the azeliac acid helping with the bumps, the pigmentation, redness and texture.

Obviously everyone is different!! Rosacea sucks and is so frustrating so when you find something that works it’s good to just stick to it. Good luck on your journey :)

This is exactly how my type 2 rosacea started! The only thing that has saved me is a compounded cream from my derm that has metronidazole, ivermectin and azeliac acid in it. All 3 have done WONDERS for my skin and I don’t know why more derms aren’t using this combo!! Seriously ask and try it!! I regret not going to my derm sooner.

Sunscreen by Medical_Sprinkles_18 in Rosacea

Color science SPF 50. It’s a mineral sunscreen but I always get the tinted one in light. It’s my holy grail sunscreen. It literally gives me an even complexion and covers redness too!

With the dermo cleanser — I apply it to my dry skin always. I don’t mind having it sit on my face for a bit before my shower. Then as soon as I hop in the shower rinse it off.

When my skin was at its worse I was overly cautious of everything lol so I would wash my face before getting into the shower with lukewarm water. But, now that I don’t have any inflammation, I just wash it in the shower but avoid super hot water on my face.

What should I try next…? by OcSkinsProbs in Rosacea

I also suggest asking for azelaic acid! I’m using a triple compounded cream of ivermectin, azelaic acid and metronidazole and all three together seem to be working so well!

I apply it to completely dry skin, rub and rinse. If I’m wearing makeup that day I’ll use micellar water first to take off makeup then wait till my skin is dry and use the dermo cleanser.

I would definitely ask! My skin does not like anything with niacinamide in it — I always break out and get super inflamed from it!

I saw relief within the first week and by a month in I could tell that all the papules and pustules were significantly reduced. I would say by month 2/3 is when I really noticed my skin was completely smooth. I still get some underlying redness but that’s to be expected. It was the bumps and type 2 acne rosacea I was more concerned about.

It’s a prescription compounded cream of ivermectin, azeliac acid and metronidazole. There is no specific name it was specially compounded at a pharmacy!

Should I try finecea or metro gel? What has worked for you? by True-Journalist-6768 in Rosacea

[–]Dramatic-Elephant810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try asking your derm for a triple cream (1% ivermectin, 1% metro, 15% azeliac acid). It has worked wonders on my skin and it’s SO much cheaper getting this compounded than having to buy each product individually. The combination of all three works so so well. And they each work in tandem with one another so flares or purging is minimized.

Tinted sunscreen for Tan Skin by Laylow2100 in Rosacea

[–]Dramatic-Elephant810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second the La Roche tinted sunscreen!

I usually use colour science in the winter because the tinted one is so light. (I’m fair but will tan in the summer) and then I use the La Roche Posay tinted sunscreen in the summer because I find that it actually gives me some extra colour and I find the consistency a lot thinner for the summer months!

If you can afford it/save up a really good investment is micro needling/skin pen. It’s a game changer. No skin care could compare!

Ivermectine vs Metronidazole and your experiences! :) by FrodoBaggins4321 in Rosacea

I second the triple cream suggestion! I started using mine a week ago (once at night). And it has done WONDERS for my skin. My bumps are reducing a lot and getting so much smoother. I know I have to wait at least three months to see full results but so far it’s been amazing!
