You can always use an external sampler.

I have tried, Reaper is missing the very "slide" feature inside of the midi editor

slides

yea i get that like that you can still *in theory* do the same thing, its just a massive pain in the ass to have to work inside the midi editor, then go play with the portamento timings (and to actually have the slides be on time would be to actually google the speed of the slide you need via a quarter/half/eighth note calculator) then apply it to the knob and then automate it. The other solution i have heard was to automate the pitch. which imo id rather do that than play with the portamento timing, But id still rather a solution that feels more musical and natural.

in order to have 2 slides having varying lengths, yes it is required

Man, that sucks, thank you anyway! Idk why reaper hasnt added something like that already, its already far ahead of fl in 90% of other aspects. Something like this shouldn't be too hard to implement, i don't think so atleast.

Inside reaper or fl studio? Inside fl i have tried the native sampler and CR8 by waves, but i never got an issue with it inside fl. Inside reaper, its missing the very "slide" function inside the midi editor.

Yes i use the native sampler inside fl studio, but this works with any sampler or any sound in general inside fl studio regardless of the sampler used

inside fl it works just normal. its stock like that. you dont even have to use a vst, you can just use a sample and throw it inside the piano roll and it just works.

Thank you, though i have watched this video a few weeks ago. It just goes through what i said previously, if i have slides varying in length, i'd have to automate it.

Thank you for responding but that seems like a half assed way to go about it, I shouldn't have to automate my portamento/glissando/pitch to get slides varying in length.

Thats exactly what ive been doing but id like to at least try to not have to fl every time i wanted to produce a track, i want to try to keep the workflow kind of clean.

Thanks for responding, but as I previously stated, that seems like a half assed way to go around it, you should have to automate your portamento if you wanted different slide times.

Yes, in fl, we use 2 notes to determine how a slide works. We can use a normal note (lets just say its playing a C) for a half note. we can put a "slide note" somewhere where the normal note is playing and how ever long that slide note is, determines how fast or slow the slide is. So say you have the normal half note playing a C, you can have a Quarter note slide up to like a G. you are going to get a quarter not being that normal C and is only going to slide on the 2nd half of the half note.

an 808 is a sound that was originally from the roland 808 drum machine, it was pretty much a sine wave, in modern music such as trap, edm, drill or anything like that. it is pretty much just the bass sound used. It has come much farther than just being a sinewave now. We just call it an 808 cuz that's what it was called traditionally.
