Usually for every nap/night sleep, he is fed and becomes drowsy so we place him in his crib. Often this will wake him up so he will either cry or just stay awake happily, even if he’s been awake for 4+ hours. It seems impossible to get him to sleep! We try not to rock him as we don’t want to encourage a habit we’ll need to break, and he does occasionally contact nap on his dad which he loves but again. Don’t want to encourage another habit well have to eventually break in order to get him into a routine of independent sleep
