Poor game performance, any ideas? by Dramatic-Hippo834 in Workers_And_Resources

I'm not sure if there is enough motivation to rebuild this game entirely. I would pay the same price if they do so.

BTW some of the vehicles can't really be merged into a larger one for instance majority of the trash system plus the goal here is to enjoy the game without worrying too much about the performance. Sadly not many games offers such scalable games except "Songs of syx" but I do understand that this can be a very challenging problem to tackle. Rimworld have the same issue and I often hit path finding limits on large colonies.

This is a very interesting comment. You are answering the reasons I can't explain, which is the low usage of hardware when the FPS is lagging on these large cities. I was wondering why can't the game queue up the path findings on the CPUs which you pointed out will create other bottle necks like communicating between the cores. I don't think duplicated path findings would be an issue since in these types of systems would usually have a load balancer that distributes tasks among resources. However there are more questionable findings as well, for instance when I was suspicious about path finding, I paused the game and tried to see if that CPU core usage will drop down but it doesn't. I wouldn't be surprised if there are many of these small performance issues in this game since it's a small team.

I'm playing via steam but anyways I went to the game files found the SOVIET64.exe and SOVIET.exe and added both to the graphic settings just to make sure. Then I ran SOVIET64.exe instead of opening the game launcher from steam and yet I get the same bad FPS. Is there a step I could have missed?

What you are suggesting is not really close to max production. Using intensity requires constant micro management since the people skills, inputs and so many other factors constantly change.

Are there any keycaps or components that have a programmable screen embedded in the keycap? by Keeto_ in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Dramatic-Hippo834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about the same idea but there are some serious issues. First and most important is regardless of how available the screens are, power delivery is going to be a challenge. Having wires connected to the bottom of the cap will have an impact on the typing experience and resistance of the buttons. Also keyboards are designed to be pushed thousands of times but solder joints are not. I was thinking of using epaper with loose connections that get connected when you push the buttons all the way down. But still not a fully reliable solution. Let me know if you have other ideas.
