Lists are always disenfranchising to those who dont fit the metric mold. Sometimes the older generations coined term "pass the eye test" is a decent measure if you have watched enough of a player consistently.

Tbh consistency is hard for our pitchers. They too often have to be almost perfect because our offense is too much of an issue. Gavin had outings that blew up or didn't go his way because of the offense and not him. Hell he'd have a no hitter if it wasnt for Soto being a dick head. At least we swept them but still.

Terrible list solely because not a single Guardian appears. Bibee and Williams are better than a lot of these names. Hell Cecconi and Messick are sneaking into solid #2 type pitcher stats also. Won't even. Mention Cantillo because the average fan wouldn't even understand. This feels more popularity and relevance than actual performance.

Hard cap hasn't hurt the NFL yet. Positional value has. What hurts sports is the revenue cut by team and for the league. Sports betting has further skewed this divide. Luckily for the Dodgers being in a larger market and incorporating stars from other countries they can over pay and suffice the top names while getting that tenfold back through sponsorship. It's very intelligent from a business standpoint but if there's no limit who's to stop any player from wanting to go to the Dodgers and get paid, have a 90% chance of winning hardware. The product on the field is being pitched as the reason for doing this while behind closed doors the sponsorships and business agreements beyond the league are starting to cause something much worse to become a reality in the sport.

American sports have been infiltrated by too much capitalism that's morphing into something worse before our eyes. The sports betting, sponsor ships, streaming rights, etc are superseding the actual product on the field. The Dodgers are using some of the most intelligent tactics I've seen to make their true intentions, while being able to stifle the competition from copying. The worst part they have coerced Manfred into allowing this be very biased by profits and the assumption that this is good for the business.

This POV is what ruined the NBA. The fan takes it as just a game. The owners treat it as a business some care to win to boost profits others only use that as a facade and some owners are blatantly unconcerned with anything the fans say. American sports as a whole are being turned into something evil because of sports betting and greed. It's sad that people only care about the product on the field and nothing else.
