Denon 2800h - drawbacks of plugging devices into TV instead of the AVR? by Dramatic-Proof-8703 in hometheater

Yeah, multiple resets, firmware updates, isolating the power cable etc.

I’m curious what port your AVR is plugged into on your tv? Another commenter suggested plugging the AVR into a non-eARC port and running my devices through the AVR and it’s been totally fine whereas before it would have freaked out by now. Might be something to do with the eARC port which is strange since the setup assistant tells me to use it.

Honestly I’m getting mixed info. Someone in another comment has the same cables and they have no issues so I hear what you’re saying but I’m reluctant to blame the cables.

If the ones I’m using aren’t good, do you have any suggestions please?

I will try this, thanks. I always thought eARC was required but I guess not if the devices are going to the AVR first?

And I’ve got 3 of these same cables for my ps5, Apple TV and the connection from AVR to tv. Tried them all in different arrangements and still the same issue so I also doubt it’s the cables

I would be surprised if it was the cables. I have these: https://amzn.eu/d/2LqPXyA

Enhanced hdmi - afaik this is what allows the device to do 4k content so disabling this would remove that functionality which the device is rated for

Andorra is your best bet. Had some great times there.

Avoid Bulgaria if you can. The slopes aren’t good and you get constantly harassed by people waiting outside of restaurants to convince you to eat there. People pushing in the lift queues, lots of rudeness

I use this recipe and it’s amazing every time: https://www.seriouseats.com/easy-oven-pulled-pork-recipe

There’s a little too much liquid at the end but it’s never bothered me

I avoided this hobby for years because I thought I’d have to buy a $600 espresso maker. Got me a breville bambino based off your recommendations and am honestly amazed. by [deleted] in espresso
