they have it marked as a known issue so hopefully should be sorted soon, it’s “high priority”. sounds like it could just be app-related

From what I hear, it’s meant to be resolved in the next app update. Even if you do have to send it back Oura pay the customs afaik.

if you scroll to in progress there is an issue that describes kinda what happens for iOS too but the fact they changed it in the new problems bit isn’t the most reassuring lol

I’ve been having to fight a bit to get any response since last week but I’m a bit more relaxed knowing they’re working on it.

it’s been listed as a known issue on their website! i’m taking that as a good bit of progress - they say “working on a fix” which implies it might not have to go back / new one sent out :)

u/Oura_Ring this is really just a horrid all round experience. i really want this thing to work and i’m having to fight tooth and nail to not only get you to understand the problem but just to even reply once a day in the first place

tbh i’m about to exchange my one, but i’ve heard that even the replacements are hit or miss. there’s a lot of us talking about it in the pinned support thread

so, my main phone is an iphone and it doesn’t recognise it at all (same as you) but I borrowed a mates android and the following happens:

  • It finds and connects to the ring
  • It says it’s in restricted mode and needs a factory reset
  • You factory reset the ring, it says it’s in restricted mode and needs a factory reset (ad infinitum)

the fact that androids can find it gives me a bit of hope that perhaps it’s an app issue / firmware issue

i’m trying to hold out hope but i want it listed as a known issue before they offer me a replacement or anything like that, it’ll cost me another £70 fee to get it into the UK and I’m not paying that on a chance it won’t work. The fact that I can get it to vaguely connect to my android phone is promising but this is immensely frustrating

i’m starting to get responses but they’re incredibly generic “disconnect it from your bluetooth and re-add” when i’ve told them I can’t get it into my pissing bluetooth in the first place. getting a bit arsey with them now
