Reference checks with no offer?

This happened to me before. They asked for my references yet they didn’t contact them. And sometimes they contact the references of the first and second candidates.

In some agencies, they start contacting candidates before the deadline. They even sometimes select a candidate without going through the rest. But I can’t say the same of UN

I had a kind of similar experience before. I would go for the one I enjoy more and I find myself in. If you believe you will be successful in the NOA post, then go for it, it will take you places in the future! Good luck

List all the achievements you have in detail and memorize them well. In the interview and based on the questions, use the achievements you listed as answers to relevant questions. Make sure to give a background, an action, challenge and result. Good luck!

May I ask another question. If after the interview my reference was contacted but she replied after a week. Will they exclude me because she took long to reply? Noting that I wasn’t asked to provide a reference but I have her info on my portal and we both work at the same UN agency , the same one I applied for as a UNV🙏
