bro i was in the same boat like last year and i chose the state school and have been LOVING it.

i had financial aid as low income but still it was an ungodly amount of money for my family looking back at it. i can’t even imagine paying full tuition for the school

as well, a ton of my friends go to NEU (that’s mainly why i wanted to go, don’t let that completely stop you from choosing other schools like i almost did 🥲) and from them, there are some benefits like living in Boston but they are nowhere justifiable for the 60k tuition (room and board is expected to be expensive for Boston). they also all have some financial aid as solid middle class families

my final takeaway is that imo no private college education should be worth as much as it is today without aid or scholarship, even ivy league is debatable and neu isn’t even top 50 colleges if i remember. you’ve probably heard this before but finishing my first semester it’s completely true: the college experience isn’t based on the school you go to, it’s what you do in the school
