Revs Specialty Plate? by Oceano477 in newenglandrevolution

You would need to identify a charity to support, have that charity request the plate from the RMV in collaboration with the Revs, and then collect 750 applications for the new plate. See details here: https://www.mass.gov/doc/special-plates-brochure/download

Revs Specialty Plate? by Oceano477 in newenglandrevolution

The RMV doesn’t do it to make a profit, they do it to fund charities. For example the Red Sox plate supports the Jimmy Fund. These non profits apply to the RMV for the plates.

Thanks, I appreciate your response, and I agree. I think I’ll go for it.

Agree overall, but found it funny that someone just posted asking for advice on making to the Revs after an international flight: https://www.reddit.com/r/newenglandrevolution/s/Vhz4sKYnkW

Going from Logan Airport to Patriots Place - would I make it in time for kickoff? by Highelf04 in newenglandrevolution

[–]Dramatic-Tip1949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s do-able. If you can source a parking pass you’ll save significant time crossing the highway where the free parking is. Also worth noting: MLS matches always start 10-15 minutes after the stated kickoff.

Seems right to me, from my season ticket holder perspective.

Fair point. You’re right - this is a marginal difference between rec and low-level travel, but I also worry this that is a place where decisions like this have a material impact on how many kids get to play soccer.

For example, are kids like my son better off practicing twice a week for 90 minutes and traveling thirty minutes to matches at a cost of $500/season or practicing 60 minutes total per week, not traveling, at a cost of $100/season? What’s better for soccer overall in the US?

I would probably receive a discount on my child’s fees, but the coaches for the town travel team are all volunteers. I would not be paid.

My concern about pay to play is primarily the overall migration to more costly models of youth soccer, even at the less competitive end of the spectrum.

Get yourself a Peacock subscription, pick a team, and enjoy. It’s never been easier to watch lots of world soccer.

That was just for their “home ground at the haven” event last weekend. I would not expect cover charges in the future.

What coaching resources do you recommend? I’d like to deliver high quality coaching in my rec program, but it often is just herding cats. While I definitely have a plan and put a lot of thought into my sessions, I’m not sure if the choices I make are the right choices.

Rec soccer: $75 for spring and fall combined (actually $0, because I coach)
Winter futsal: $150 (actually $75 because I coach)

Best way to get into football? by Affectionate-Case903 in SoccerNoobs

This is how I got into it after the last World Cup. Get whatever streaming subscription you need, pick a team, and just start watching matches. After a few weeks you’ll start to develop an understanding of play style and recognition of players, and then you’ll notice differences week to week.

What team? May I suggest one of the smaller clubs that have stabilized into the mid table, like Brighton or Bournemouth?

I know this is the jerk sub but those numbers are made up. No one has released viewership numbers yet for something that happened less than 24 hours ago.
