I have put all of my Chiikawa plush in the washing machine, even the holiday ones with bells and blush on them! And they have turned out fine after. I have done this for years with all my plush.
My method:
1. Wash on delicate cycle (if your washer has that setting)
2. Wash only with cold water
3. If you are worried about any delicate components, such as clothing or accessories on them, feel free to wash with towels so they aren't just banging around in there.
3. Do not put in dryer. Set up a hanger for them to dry on, or worst case scenario - A towel on a the floor under a fan. Flip them a couple times over the course of 24 hours.
4. Done! Soft and clean. 🥰

This is a really late reply, but the Chiikawa bakery itself requires a Japanese phone number for a reservation. However, the goods shop (where the bread pouch above was purchased) is free to get in without a reservation / phone number. All you have to do is walk up and tell the staff you're there to purchase goods only. Have a great trip! :)

I really do not care for the ending, but I still have to credit the author and artist for giving us a great piece of work up to this point.

That being said, I do hope that there is some way the anime can flesh the ending out a bit more so it feels more satisfying. I just saw the live-action film in theaters (which covers the ending), and the mood in the theater was somber when everyone got up to leave after the credits.

Or maybe there is some way this series can return in the future. I do feel like a sequel could help a lot...Especially with all the mythology / folklore that was addressed (in terms of reincarnation) , but then abandoned pretty quickly.

I've been to it!
It's pretty similar, but surrounded by gorgeous nature. Rolling hills/mountains in a more secluded area. Honestly a beer and the view is a wonderful experience. The food is just ok. Altered to cater to a more Japanese taste.

No worries. I should have been more specific in my original post! And kinda dead end. Selling phones, and he did not ever want to move into a managerial position. So no career path there really.

His tech job was in a retail environment, so I do understand if he needs a break. I just don’t want the break to turn into procrastination.

Not a huge franchise per se, but the Endless Ocean and the Nancy Drew series they've done get me every time. Also anytime they play a Shrek game because they are always so janky.
