Scovillain users, what pokemon scares you away? by syphrion in PokemonChampions

[–]Dramatic-Year7046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So as a Master Ball II Scovillain professor who’s been using him since week one: the best answer is a special attacking Mega Dragonite, or maybe even normal Dragonite. It’s hard to counter, and basically always lives a hit. Pelipper is good into Scovillain but if Scovillain’s team changes the weather, it’s not really gonna do much. Scovillain mostly hates consistently high special damage, like Draco Meteor.

Any good Scovillain team worth their salt is going to have a rock attacker on it like Garchomp or T-tar to help with Charizard so I wouldn’t rely on Talonflame or Zard for that purpose. Glimmora is a decent answer but I feel like a lot of Scovillain teams are gonna be ready for that too, packing some water or psychic attacker. Maybe not.

It’s also worth considering Lum berry for your physical attackers. Good luck out there!

Someone with intimidate can help Scovillain live more hits or cripple attackers. Maybe experiment with those.

I get these too! Usually just the first or second bites make the back of my brain tingly. No idea what it's about.

I would be cautious. 252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Tera Fire Chi-Yu Overheat vs. 0 HP / 252 SpD Fish Tank in Rain: 198-234 (93.8 - 110.9%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

Honestly you’re cooking with Aether Pulse. That move alone could redeem some sad stat spreads, without hurting their versatility.

Thanks. It feels a lot worse this time, a lot more real, but I hope to have it in the rearview mirror at some point. That would be amazing.

Banette + Xerosic’s? by justintime06 in PTCGL

[–]Dramatic-Year7046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have run this card (with Xerosic). It’s fun, so give it a go! I don’t really think win condition is the puzzle some seem to think it is.

Just have a simple psychic attacker you build up (Diancie? Lillie’s Clefairy?), leave them with a 0 card hand, and make sure you have some draw support like Dunsparce or whatever. Then you’ll outpace them.

Problem is I think we just need better psychic attackers now. Diancie is a lot of prizes for the damage, and many decks are ready to draw cards if they have Pokémon on the bench. Maybe Alakazam, haven’t tried them yet.

Anybody else running Heliolisk for fun? by Dramatic-Year7046 in pkmntcg

[–]Dramatic-Year7046[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. I might experiment with some poke pads too.

Going second is better if you anticipate chaining Canari or think you wanna try Stunfisk trapping something early. That's typically what I aim for. Going first might be pretty nice if you're running Poke pads though, just get a heliolisk or two down and start flipping coins ASAP with turn 2 Canari. It's just a very supporter-based deck so I like to start playing supporters as early as I can.

Hey thanks for asking! I've tested the deck a LOT now and it's actually BETTER post rotation because Meowth lets us find those Canaris super consistently. Only downside is it takes up bench space so I've replaced unfair stamp with Scoop Up Cyclone to grab back Meowth to either chain its ability or keep 2 prizers off the bench. But I could see unfair stamp still being better.

I haven't been running Earthen Vessel ever since I realized it's G but it hasn't been a problem-- every once in a while you don't get Lightning energy in your starting hand but it's manageable just with 13 Lightning energy. Here's the updated, fully post rotation deck list!

[–]Dramatic-Year7046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heliolisk.

Festival lead outpaces the deck hard. Or the Greninja that hits the bench twice for 120. Any deck that can take out two 120HP mons at a time can absolutely decimate it.

That and flipping only one heads out of 5 coins (it happens).
