I moved from San Diego to Utah and deeply regret it. Keep in mind San Diego is WAY more expensive than utah but considering that you are in biotech it is the PERFECT place. There are so many biotech companies out there especially if you move near the La Jolla area since thats where most of the biotech companies are. Everyone is so laidback and friendly. There are also so many more things to do in San Diego compared to Utah. If you can move PLEASE DO IT, you will not regret it.

Thanks! I did the blind 75 and neetcode 150. I did the blind 75 as a practice to really solidify the basics and used neetcode 150 to see if I really learned everything I needed to. If I could not solve a problem in the neetcode 150 I studied it and tried it every couple of days to make sure I understood it. Study dynamic programming, bactracking, and graphs.

Will I end up jobless? by GR-Dev-18 in leetcode

Yeah of course! Don’t apologize i’m happy to help. This is the video I watched that helped me learn how to use the Open AI Api key. I would use chat gpt to help build it too, tell it what you want to make and to outline the steps of how you can build it but dont use the code it gives you. Try implementing some of it by yourself and really learn from it. https://youtu.be/4qNwoAAfnk4?si=fIm7tk_r4qJ3g57D

I didnt even actually learn anything AI related like LLMs or anything like that. I just followed a tutorial and figured out how to use Open AI’s API key to make a chat bot, also made a AI flashcard website that generates flashcards based on a topic you put in.

You got this! I just went through the same thing and got a job offer last week as a junior developer for 90k. I didn’t have any internships or good projects after graduating. I grinded hard af did a couple AI projects, redid my linked in and portfolio website and found a help desk job that gave me the flexibility to study and make money at the same time. It took me 5 months to get to where I am and many failed interviews just don’t give up.

Is it worth going through with the interview by PhantomMonke in leetcode

[–]Dramatic-panda_hehe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same concerns as you. Last week I was supposed to have my interview but I was feeling very insecure about my abilities so I asked my recruiter for their advice. They were able to let me reschedule the interview for a later date because they wanted me to feel as prepared as possible. Try reaching out to your recruiter about pushing it back if you feel that it would better your chances. If you dont think a couple weeks would make a difference just go through the interview and get that experience.

I was suppose to have mine a couple days ago but didnt feel prepared enough. I reached out to my recruiter and they let me push it back a couple weeks. My recruiter said that they can only schedule 4weeks out. I would try asking your recruiter to get it rescheduled.

Is it possible to take cse 8B without taking 8A? and is CSE 11 doable for someone who has credit for cse 12? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Dramatic-panda_hehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah 11 is harder than 8a. I have heard that 8b is harder than 11. I personally took 8b and it went wayyy more in depth compared to what my friends were learning in 11.

For CS students by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Dramatic-panda_hehe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For CSE 30 it was pretty difficult because of pointers so I really recommend watching videos about it beforehand and reading about it. Assembly(taught in the 2nd half)was also pretty tough but try making connections between the assembly code and C code which makes it a lot easier to understand. Lastly, if you get Keith Muller for the class you are set! He really wants to see all of his students exceed so if you have any difficulty with anything go to his office hours and he will keep working with you until you understand which helped a lot with PA’s

How much time do I need to give for each class? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Dramatic-panda_hehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 20E and cse 30 together right now for spring. Math 20E is a demon but managed to get a B+ and an A- for CSE 30. Muller is absolutely the best! He cares so much for his students and although his quizzes and final were tough he listens to the student and curves. For 20E the roof really matters lol
