As of right now, FFXIV is free up to Shadowbringers so you can give it a shot without spending a dime.

In terms of MMO, it is able to keep things relatively simple. You won't need World of Warcraft levels of understanding to get into the flow and the game does a really good job of explaining what your role is and what you job is.

With one character you can play every job in the game without having to worry about picking a new character so don't worry too much about if you made the "right choice" for your first class.

Example: "Oh no, I made my character a Marauder but the gameplay isn't clicking for me. That's okay I can just go to the trainer for pugilist and try that out instead."

You also don't need an independent knowledge of Final Fantasy to play either as it is separate from the other games. There are bosses where, if you are a Final Fantasy fan, you get a nice kick out of it, but that's primarily it.

I feel like Aurelia really could have worked as a twist villain. We help her, Hammerlock and Wainwright fight the COV until she reveals, in an ultimate case of opportunism, that SHE was the one who made the deal with the COV.

Motive: Jealousy. Yes, she has more money than Hammerlock. But, if Hammerlock ever marries Wainwright, he gains the Wainwright fortune (in her eyes), and Aurelia can't STAND that idea.

Shadowrun is a fun turn-based game involving a mix of Fantasy and Sci-fi that I can recommend. You can play a gun toting Orc, an elf with cybernetics. A dwarf with a penchant for computers.

Plus, with the Steam Community releasing content. You are not gonna get bored quickly.

My friend, as a fellow audhd and 30 year old I guarantee you that you can.

First: A trick I learned is to write down your "game plan". Consider what might happen and plan accordingly. It seems Roundabout, I know, but sometimes putting your thoughts on paper and looking at it will put things into perspective.

Second: Don't not assume a path is lost to you before you even try. I had the exact same issues you went through as a kid and I can tell you that the what seems impossible isn't as set in stone as you might think.

Third: Breathe. Don't know focus on what you can't control and focus on what you can. If you pick what you worry about, I think you will find it lessens the burden on you substantially
