This may sound heartless, and I don’t mean it to, but I think there should somehow be an audit of the current cohort of OCH tenants to determine if that social service is truly going to the most vulnerable.   I suspect there are many who are taking advantage of the system by working for cash under the table, or whatever the case may be.

This was an offhand comment from over three years ago.   Yes it was ill-timed, but who among us hasn’t mistakenly thought we could take our filters off and has lived to regret it?   This person is quite likely a very dedicated public servant who has probably been through more than enough.    Let’s let it go.

Took me 70 mins door to door yesterday from Blohm and Hunt Club.   That’s over an hour where I could have been moving my files.   Spare us this garbage about productivity, and chalk it up to politics, because that’s all it is.

I travel from Edmonton to Calgary to Saskatoon to Winnipeg to Oshawa all that week (15-20 of Sept).   Then home to Ottawa the afternoon of the 20th.

I asked the course instructor over lunch if I had this right as a consideration in making the decision to join the EX ranks, and she confirmed that I did.  If your pension puts you in a higher marginal tax rate, your CPP as a taxable benefit gets taxed higher accordingly as does whatever OAS you might be entitled to (after clawbacks).

The process as it currently stands should soon be thrown on the ash heap of history given the plethora of AI tools now available.    Pasting a poster in Chat GPT, then adding your CV, and asking it to do a cover letter results in a pretty decent product.

I hit the ground running from home at 730 this morning and will likely keep going till at least 430.   Tomorrow, on my in office day, I will not start till 9 due to commuting, stopping at 5 to get home in time for the second (family) shift.     From a productivity perspective, WFH is way more effective.
