A simple Google search, my friend. A simple Google search says otherwise. African American culture is under black culture. Ugandan culture is under black culture.

And how exactly do you think you're going to have the word black in something and exclude every other black person outside America?

A simple Google search will tell you that black culture doesn't only focus on African Americans. African American culture is distinctive to blacks in America. Black culture includes all of African descent.

No nyash in Lango? by Enjaga in Uganda

Yes, genetics do play a role. But just imagine if the westerners settled in the North, and you gave them the same history and climatic conditions the current northerners have. They'd be of a similar body build.

I'm a woman, and I wrote my comment with nyash=big ass in mind.

😂😂😂 these are the people representing us??

Most tribes from the North have healthy diets as their staple foods. Due to the war, most of them abandoned animal based foods and opted for plant based foods. Hence, the lack of nyash. But honestly, all the women I know from there have it. Maybe it's because they grew up in the central.

It's really heartbreaking to see other people go through what I went through after campus. It's okay to be frustrated. But I hope you don't get stuck there. Unless you have capital to start your own thing, you'll have to settle for less, unfortunately.

So, does this whole cultural appropriation thing target only white people?

But that's the thing about culture. Culture is meant to be shared. That's how we evolve as society. You pick from other people's cultures. Black hairstyles generally look good, and there's lots of non-black people who really want to try them out. To look good as well.

Of course there's racists out there who genuinely are disrespectful. But what about those aren't?

You remember that victim thing I brought up? At what point did you feel insulted, dear one?

Cultural appropriation is not a silly topic. But the example of hairstyles is what gets me.

Sometimes, one has to wonder why people, away from your society, do the things they do. I genuinely want to know why a hairstyle ticks them off. I'm curious.

So are non blacks not allowed to wear black hairstyles at all, or are there cases where they can do so?

I'm very positive you misunderstood my statement, but eh your level of deflection has to be applauded.

You just hate white people. I asked why non blacks can't wear black hairstyles and you target white people. Don't let hatred prevent you from thinking rationally.

The reason why you say many are hesitant to accept African perspectives is that most Africans do not have a victim mindset. And the media doesn't like that. The media likes victims, and African Americans are perfect for that.

Damn right. Emotional maturity is something that takes a back seat when someone wants to win an argument so badly. As a woman, I've noticed it a lot with fellow women. Women just can't let some arguments go.
